- In the Book of Genesis, we read about the Creation. Notice that the Light mentioned in verse 3, "Let there be light," comes before the creation of the sun and moon which were formed on the forth day(verse 14). John 1.4 says, "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The life/light of Jesus sustained the world before the sun and moon were even set in the heavens on the fourth day. It was in the light of God that allowed the plants and things to survive. It was a supernatual light. The plants and things were supported and survived by the Spirit of God. The fall of Adam changed this supernatual provision for the earth and mankind. After the fall, the natural sun became the light of the world with only a few recorded incidents of the Spirit of God doing the growing. One example is found in Numbers chapter 17 where Aaron's Rod was put with the Lord for a night, and the next day, not only had it budded, it had also bloomed.
