As I closed my eyes last night, I heard a song. It was "Strawberry Fields" by the Beatles. I knew it was from the Lord. I have not heard that song in years, nor was it a favorite of mine. Here is the song: Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry Fields forever. Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me. Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry Fields forever. No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low. That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad. Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry Fields forever. Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream. I think I know I mean a 'Yes' but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree. Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry Fields forever. Strawberry Fields forever. ~~ |

A few nights ago, I watched a movie "I Am Sam" with Sean Penn. (It was a good movie, by the way.) There were a few songs in it by the Beatles. The little girl was named Lucy after the song, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." I had always thought they were singing about LSD, the drug, but the movie explains that it was really a song about a picture George's little girl drew. I don't know that much about the Beatles, so when I heard that, I just said okay.. I thought it was about drugs. I sort of think the Lord is talking about 'perception.' Last night, at a yahoo photography group, one of the members made the statement that so many people think you have to have the best equipment to take the best pictures. His statement was that it is not true that you have to have the best. "If someone handed you a Canon 1Ds MkIII with a 50mm f/1.2 lens ($8000 or so) I suspect you would become a worse photographer. After all do you tell a cook, "you would be better if you had better pots?" That statement really blessed me. I am still seeking the Lord for what He is saying, and I just wanted to share. stace |

Hi Stace, Goodness, if I am not mistaken, my daughter and I had this song come to us a short time ago - not the whole song, just the "Strawberry Fields Forever" part. Can't remember the details, only that it fit in with something we had heard/said. My, how I need clarity of mind! Been having trouble recently in that department. Any way, aside from the song, I really sense that the Lord is telling us a lot about "perception", showing us that the way someone sees something sheds a whole lot of influence on what they see. If we are not seeing something from God's prospective then we will not see things as clearly and true as they are. All the more reason to draw close to our Lord and as Him to show us things from His eyes rather than our own. And if we, as believers, can still see things from our own perspective rather than His because our flesh gets in the way, how much more difficult is it for those in the world to see things clearly being without His Light to shed clarity to the situation! Oh Lord, help us to see things as You see them putting our flesh behind and allowing Your Spirit to rise up in us. We need to see things from Your perspective rather than our own knowing that our perception of things can be distorted by the things around us, the hurts we have experienced, etc., etc. Jesus, You walked the earth so You know what we deal with daily via our flesh. Help us to let our flesh die that we might live as You did and do, doing only that which You see the Father doing. Help us to see what He does as well that we might do it and bring glory and honor to Him as You have done. That is our heart's desire, to be faithful to our heavenly Father as You have been faithful and to glorify Him by bringing His Kingdom on earth - that which is real and true and lasting "forever". As we approach this spring I sense that You desire that a great harvest be brought forth for the fields are ripe for harvest. Raise us up as harvestors and may we be like the strawberry, sweet and tender with the gentleness of Your hand leading and guiding us and displaying You and Your love to a lost and dying world. Let it be so in Your sweet name we pray. Amen. |
