Deuteronomy 6:3-4 - Greater is God's Covenant Through Christ Jesus

"Hear therefore, O Israel, and be watchful to do them; that it may be well with you and that you may increase exceedingly, as the Lord; the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord [the only Lord]." Deuteronomy 6:3-4

Though these verses were written to Israel of the Old Testament and and of the old covenant, we have been given a better covenant through Christ Jesus. Even so, we have things which the Lord told us to do, the greatest being to love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind. As we are obedient to Him and to His ways we are mindful that we are promised eternal life for this with our Lord in a place that far exceeds our expectations, more than a land flowing with milk and honey. Not only that, if we are obedient to hear His voice and do His will, we will be given the opportunity to reign with our Lord Jesus Christ in His thousand year reign upon the earth. Now that gets my heart to pumping and my hands to clapping! Oh Lord, to reign with You! What a blessing that will be!!!

In a day and age when Yahweh God is being compressed into a lump sum of "all gods being one", we as His people have to be bold enough to proclaim that there is NO god like our God. He is not the god/gods of the heathen nor is He Allah though He is the creator of ALL and loves all people. Many faiths and religions have some concept of Who He is but have been handed a countefeit copy of the One True God. It is not our responsibility to condemn them, rather it is our place to pray for them that they might come to the Creator of the Universe through His Son who is one with Him, Christ Jesus. We who have been so blessed should share the blessing of His Son with others. Amen? Amen.

As Israel has been mentioned in today's devotional, let us remember to lift her up in prayer, praying for the peace of Jerusalem and for God's chosen people to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, their Messiah and King, in His sweet name. Amen.
