Isaiah 40:8 - Day 11

"The grass withers, the flowers fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." Isaiah 40:8

Most of us have read books, whether they be fact of fiction. If you are like me, a lot of what is read is forgotten over time though some details might be retained. Those with a better memory will hold onto a lot of the contents. We might even apply some of what we have read to our lives for a time, then different situations, even time being one of them, we lose that which we had once obtained and find our lives altered by "life's" circumstances. We might even find that as time passes we have mixed some of the things from the books of fact and fiction and are not quite sure what is what!

Well, this morning it was impressed upon me that in order to hold fast to all of God's benefits we first need to know what they are and then we have to believe they are God's will for our lives! When we count all of the benefits given to us by God we need to think of the benefit we have by having access to His Written Word. Praise be to God for this precious, treasured benefit, this gift that affords us the luxury to open the pages of His Written Word and find answers to our daily lives. It is life's manual much like the car manuals that are found in the glove compart of our cars with instructions to help keep our lives running smoothly just as those car manuals are meant to do. As a car owner, have you ever encountered a problem with your car and spent hundred of dollars to have fixed and later come to realize that had you read the car manual the problem could have been avoided had you only known this little detail like checking the oil in your car before you run on empty??? Most cars have gauges on their dash board that tells them when they are low on oil, some even light up. But sometimes these things are not working for whatever reason or we do not remember to look and check them. Oh, what problems we can run into when we do not take the time to check these things costing us hundreds upon hundreds of dollars - and there in the glove compartment of our cars, within arms reach, is that manual with the instructions that had we known them we could have avoided all this cost and heartache!

So it is with God's word. There are the answers to all of life's trials, tribulations, joys and triumpants; how they are faced, avoided, overcome and lived. The grass withers, the flowers fade, these things are all temporary, even the bodies that we have right now will not last forever, but the word, THE WORD of our God will stand forever.. What a revelation! What a truth! We have to hold fast to this for the enemy wants to steal this from us to make us question what God has given us, to question all the benefits of God. Scripture tells us that heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:12). We have to fight to keep God's truths in our minds and in our hearts, shaking off the enemy's lies that these these things do not apply to us, that God doesn't want to heal us, bless us, save us, etc., etc. God is faithful and His word will endure throughout eternity. What He has promised He will fulfill. Let us allow this to sink into our spirits filling our hearts and renewing our minds to what He has spoken and evidenced by what has already been done and shown forth in His written Word. Let us adhere to His Word as our own and then live it knowing that there is no one like our God Who never changes and will always Be. Hallelujah! Bless the Lord oh my soul.

Be lifted up dear saint, for we haven't even begun to touch what we have been given through Him Who is the Living Word! Hallelujah!!!
