Deuteronomy 20:4 - God Fight For Us "For the Lord your God is He Who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you." Deuteronomy 20:4 Whoa! Are you having a bad day? Do you feel like the world is against you and you're all alone? Does it seem like just after you get over one hurdle, two more rise up and stare you in the face? Well, take heart for you are not alone. The Lord our God is with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you. Isn't that wonderful news!!! The Lord is ready to fight for us and has already done so in a marvelous way. But many times we forget that the Lord is there, ready to fight on our behalf. Often times we think that we are in this battle alone and we forget to call upon His help. We try to fight by ourselves, using our own strength rather than relying upon Him to take us to victory. Perhaps we need to refresh our memories every so often on the ways He has already fought for us saving us from the traps the enemy has set to bring us done. The biggest example of this was when Satan thought he had the victory over mankind when Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God. Satan must have thought man was doomed then yet God already had a plan into effect, waiting for the right time to carry it out, and that was to send His only Begotten Son to be the propitiation of our sins. What a victory that was on our behalf, huh? What other ways can you think of that God has fought for you, giving you victory over your enemies? If we think about it I'm sure we can come up with many other times that the Lord has brought us safely through situations when the enemy wanted to bring us down. The Lord has fought for us before and He will fight for us again. He is in us and has given us the authority through Christ Jesus to tread upon serpents and scorpions. All we need do is believe His Word when He says He will fightagainst our enemies, believe He is with us and for us, believe He has endowed us with power from on high and trust that He is faithful to His Word. Many times we will just need to surrender a problem over to Him and believe that He will take care of it. Other times He will instruct us how we are to overcome the enemy and in that case we will need to act upon what He has instructed us to do, knowing that He abides with us. In any case, He has called us to be overcomers and we have already the greatest victory of all for He has saved us from eternal damnation and brought us into eternal life through His Son Christ Jesus. Talk about fulfilling His Word! Thank You, Jesus! Thank You, Father! Holy Spirit, please continue to instruct us in His Ways so that we might see many areas in our lives that He has already saved us from the hand of the enemy as we trust in Him, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. |
