While typing a response to a post at The Christian Coffee Shop I was reminded of John 15:15 where Jesus says, "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you." It brought a greater understanding to that verse as well, in light of this post. I could hear in my spirit the Lord saying, "I did not come to condemn you nor to show you your weaknesses. I have come to wash you in My blood and to cleanse you of sin. And not that only, I have come to be a brother and friend to you, loving you at all times and revealing our Father's heart to you that you might know that you are fully equipped to overcome any sin, any obstacle, any weakness of the flesh. In times of weakness draw close to Me and allow Me to embrace you with a strength and peace that is not your own. Remember, I have sent the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you. If you walk in your own footsteps you will stumble. But if you walk in My footsteps your course will be steady and sure. In your darkest hour, let Me be your Light. In times of uncertainty, hold fast to Me. In times of loneliness remember that I am with you and will never forsake you. In times of sadness let My joy fill you to overflowing so that there is not only enough joy for you but more that you might share with others. Precious heart, remember that I am a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Rejoice in knowing all of this as I rejoice in you."

Wow! Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus! Isn't it wonderful to have Him as our friend? And it is because of Christ Jesus within us that we can be a true friend to others. Teach us, Holy Spirit. Please teach us how to be such a friend to others as Jesus is to us, in His sweet name we pray. Amen.

Rejoicing in Him,
Joan
