Shalom, Scripture references are from, The SET (Stone Edition Tanach) or the CJB (Complete Jewish Bible) for the OT and the PNT (Power New Testament ) for the NT unless otherwise specified. Hbr 11:39. And these all, having been praised for their trusting, did not obtain the promise for themselves, 40. because God selected something better concerning us, so that they would not be perfected without us. From Abel through Malachi YHVH's Promises ever stood before them and yet none of them ever saw the manifestation of those Promises. Never saw them manifest and yet they held on to the hope; onto The Promises. They knew of a coming seed to bruise the head of satan; they knew of the Lamb that YHVH would provide as a sacrifice for all; they knew of a coming salvation that would provide deliverance from bondages, oppression, trials and tribulations. They "knew" but they never saw! Without seeing they walked trusting, or as we might say, "They walk by faith" and in doing so they walked pleasingly unto YHVH... Hbr 11:6. and without trusting it is impossible to please God: for it is necessary for the one who comes to God to believe that He is, that He does exist, then He becomes a rewarder to those who seek Him out. We are called "FIRST" to walk in faith unto YHVH and then only later shall we reap our reward from HIM. Lk 15:17. And then he came to himself and said, ‘How many hired hands of my father abound in food, but I am dying here in a famine. 18. When I get up I will go to my father and I will say to him, “Father, I sinned against heaven and before you, 19. I am no longer worthy to be called your son: you must make me as one of your hired hands.’” 20. Then after he got up he went to his own father. And while he was still a great distance away his father saw him and was sympathetic and then he ran and fell upon his neck and kissed him. ... 24. because this my son was dead, but he came to life again. He was lost, but has been found,’ and they began to rejoice. This "Prodigal son" was dead to Judaism and the YHVH of Judaism when he went into the world to serve his own desires. Once he exercised faith, he got up out of his filth; out of his sin and turned to his father to provide for him! The son expected nothing more than to be treated as a slave but the father treated him as a king! The father did not just give him a cabin in the corner of his kingdom but he brought the son into the mansion. The father did not let him stay covered in filth but instead had the finest possible attire placed upon him. Also do not fail to see that the father knew before hand of his coming in as much as he was anticipating that the son would come. The father also exercised faith or trust that the son would return home. Therefore the father was keeping his eyes searching for the day when he would see the return of his wayward son and when he saw him coming he ran to him! He ran to provide even greater coverage to the son for it was common place for the villagers living around a "kingdom"; a mansion; an enormous farm to throw trash upon someone who had dishonored the "lord" of their kingdom as this one would attempted to once again return. Please, take note of this fact? It was the villagers that threw the trash and NOT the father! If you find yourself in a position like unto that in which the Prodigal found himself it will NOT be The FATHER; it will NOT be YHVH who will attempt to trash you! When YHVH sees you coming HE will treat you with honor! HE will treat you as a King! HE will treat you as HIS Son! Hbr 11:39. And these all, having been praised for their trusting, did not obtain the promise for themselves, 40. because God selected something better concerning us, so that they would not be perfected without us. From Abel through Malachi they lived looking for the manifestation of the Promises of YHVH. They looked forward anticipating the time when they would live with YHVH as their KING; as their FATHER. YHVH had chosen the Jewish people to keep HIS Word. Not only to "keep it" but to take it to the world so that they too might know of HIM. They were called to be HIS Levite nation; HIS nation of Priests taking the love of YHVH to all of mankind. Instead, like most of YHVH's children today they attempted to keep YHVH; to keep their inheritance to themselves! Jonah 4:2 He prayed to HASHEM, and said, "Please, HASHEM, was this not my contention when I was still on my own soil? Because of this I had hastened to flee to Tarshish for I knew that you are a gracious and merciful God, slow to anger, abundant in kindness, and relent from doing harm. Jonah knew YHVH and he knew of the love of YHVH but like most of YHVH's children he did not want to share the love of YHVH to the world. Though the reasons were generally different this was the prevailing attitude of YHVH's children when Y'SHUA was born. YHVH wanted HIS children to live by faith and to take HIS love to the world. When they refused to do so HE created a Son who would show them the way to The FATHER! HE created a Son who would show the Jews a better way so that they would take the love of YHVH to the world. HE did this so that they would not be the only children of YHVH; so that they would not be perfected without the rest of the world. YHVH created a way so that all the world would be "called' to come to HIM but such that only those who did turn and come to HIM would be "saved" from their lives of sin and the rewards of such lives. Rom 6:23. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Messiah Jesus our Lord. YHVH had taken twelve men; one to represent each of the tribes of Israel and then scattered them to take the truth of HIS love to the world. In doing this HE had cut a new covenant; a covenant that illustrated the love of the first covenant; The Torah. A covenant that was cut in the life of the Lamb that HE had provided (Gen 22:8). A covenant that was cut through the life of Y'SHUA! Although all the children of the world were dead in their sins YHVH was waiting for them; HE was anticipating their return; HE was looking for them to come to HIM for their provision! To make it possible for this to happen HE has given a better covenant. This covenant is better in that it does not have to be repeated year after year after year! This covenant is better in that YHVH literally made it with the world and right in the midst of the world so that they could not deny that HE had offered it to them as well as to the Jews... Mat 27:50. And after Jesus again cried out in a loud voice His spirit left Him. 51. Then behold the veil of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom and the earth quaked and stones were split, 52. and the graves were opened and many bodies of the sleeping saints were raised. 53. Then when they came out of the graves, after His resurrection, they entered the holy city and they appeared to many. 54. And after the centurion, and those who were keeping watch over Jesus with him, saw the earthquake and the things that happened, they became very greatly fearful, saying, “Truly He was the Son of God.” This covenant was made in the midst of the world and the world could not deny it! Hbr 11:39. And these all, having been praised for their trusting, did not obtain the promise for themselves, 40. because God selected something better concerning us, so that they would not be perfected without us. It was never YHVH's intent that the Promises of YHVH were for only the Jews. They did not obtain the Promises for themselves but for the world! They did not obtain the covenant for themselves but to share it with the world. For what have you received the Promise? Y'SHUA was the Promises of YHVH manifest amongst the world! For what purpose have you receive Y'SHUA? |
