In response to Raro's earlier statement:

But then a character is weaker in other attributes. In other words the characters are not stronger but they are more specialized. If you truly wanted stronger characters you would have each early character have about 16 skill points divided among 4 stats and then higher rank characters would have 20 skill points instead.

My examples are just a rough outline of the stats and what they effect.

My idea for the stats system:

Strength - Melee Attacks
Speed - Movement speed and jump height
Defense - Health equal to amount of points in this category
Magic - Secondary Ability power + recharge rate

Magic: 4
