Ok, first we all need to figure out wether it's going to be an RPG or sidescroller (kirby style) or anything else. they all have good points. RPG may be complicated, but they give a more strategic sense to it. Sidescroller is simple, but can get boring if it's not entertaining. (not much replay) Platformer in my opinion is just hard. Shooter is'nt exactly what perpetual islands would be. Arcade, possible, but will get boring fast. (unless it's really good) Multiplayer? Well, that's be fun, we could add it to any of the toher types. Plus, we'll have all our main characters too. So It'd maek more sense to have Multi. We need to figure out which characters: *=special chars. **=super special
don't ask for complicated ones, caus eIf our programmers can't handle it, what's the point? And you'll have to have like basic pics for graphics to sprite them too. How big willt he game be? like full screen (big files) but easier to play, and cooler in a way, but calls for better graphics. Smaller, like windowed veiw. (you know, game boy screen size) would be easier ont he graphics, but actually there really isn't a but, but soem people just like full screen better. Please vote for only one of each part and give quick reasons why you'd rather. You know. and anything else you'd liekt o add. NO MULTI |

RPG (better fit for Perpetual Island story. My second choice, Kirby Style would be incredibly hard) Cleoy, Albel, Zeik, Serkane, Utada (main storyline characters) small (almost no lag and good FPS) |

RPG: That's what PI is after all! Small screen: It's easier to concentrate on one thing. Not to mention full screen wrecks havoc on a wide-screen computer monitor. |

The characters I'd want in: The CAM bunnies (Obvious choice) Serkane, Ezkuro, and Melana. (Melana might be difficult given that her abilities are non-combat oriented. ) Rose Utada Albel Zeik and Kiez And sorry to burst you guys' bubbles, but I can't do multiplayer. |

Marshmellows would eb an enemy. That'd be easier on Sapphire. I think all our main characters would be okay. And Melana's attacks, we can just change 'em around ab it so that she can attack. I'm going to post an enemy list. (((How about we do an RPG sidescroller? A bit like Maplestory (if you've played) only the characters aren't THAT complicated. Like they can't change clothes. But they can get like weapons. And maybe like a sp (mp) bar, as well as HP, so when they use a skil, it uses up some, and they can't use mroe until they collect stuff. The stronger the attack the more sp (mp) it uses. Cause it's going to be easier for me to draw backrounds and stuff like that. It's really hard to draw RPG bg's. And enemies would be kirby style. To limit difficulty, with bosses being one of few enemies that can actually have more health than like a two hit bar or soemthing. And of course, we'd have to have an attack (simple weapon strike) that doesn't cost sp (mp) but onyl hits like right in front or soemthing.))) I need people to comment on the enemies too. |

(((sorry about double post))) I put Utada, Albel, and Zeik as special characters, cause they're more specialized in a certain category. And Cleoy and Serkane are pretty much well rounded. (cleoy can't heal in the game) One star characters will need unlocking, but you get them before you'd get two star characters who are "stronger" in a way. Kiez, Is that kind of charcter you'd imagine is "stronger" in a way, same with Ezkuro. Then I put the otehr ones liek that to even out. If anyone opposes or doesn't like that, feel free to speak up and let me know. |

Ok that works. I like the side scrolling-RPG idea. The only problem is that the kind of physics engine scripting we would need would play havoc with Gamemaker. Oh yeah a game making club is opening at my school so I can ask any technical question to people there. |

Cool, sounds good. So far we've gotten: Sidescroller RPG Smaller Size Screen Should we make the game linear? (Having one sdirect route) Or non linear (Having branching paths) Cause eitehr way would work, branching would be more fun. Especially with traveling from island to island. |

Go for branching! That way you could actually explore some and it wouldn't just be a normal sidescroller. |

Ok, well, sapphire or you has to be able to do that on gamemaker though. I can do the graphics, but you guys will have to program it to be branching. (like you activate something, so it let's you go somewhere secret or new) |
