Coming off of its strongest season since the first, season seven of House was a bit of a letdown. While it remained entertaining; it never reached the dramatic highs of season six. There were no stinkers, but there were no real standouts either. The show awkwardly handled the relationship between House and Cuddy, introduced a new doctor only to dismiss her when she became interesting and featured a sense of humor that was a bit too goofy for its own good. The return of Olivia Wilde did help towards the end of the season, but season seven left the viewer with no real lasting impression or memorable moments. Word is that season eight will most likely be the show's last, and I hope that the writers can regain some of the great edge they showcased in the show's sixth year. In my review last year, I said how the season finale could have served as a good end to the series altogether. Let's hope that after all is said and done I don't hope they did stop there. |

Honestly, the show could have ended a few seasons ago in my opinion. I really loved the episodes at the psych house in season 6, thought the show would turn a corner and instead went back to the same thing it always has done. The best of House could be fit on 1 disc and you probably wouldn't miss seeing the other episodes. |
