If codecs are missing, Windows Media Player, may not be able to play stand-alone VOB files that you ripped from a DVD or downloaded from the Internet. Unlike formats, which refer to how data is stored, codecs refer to the way the data is compressed. If you cannot play VOB files in Windows Media Player, there are two possible solutions for you.
