As the topic says, recommend something. Be it movies, novels, sports, knowledge or anything you want others to experience or perhaps acknowledge.

If you want to you can analyze the person above you :>

But for starters,

If you like fantasy novels like Lord of the Rings, I would recommend the Wheel of Time series.

If you like fantasy politics, I would recommend A Song of Ice and Fire, although it'll probably never finished...

Well I can't give RPG recommendations for anyone, since I don't know your tastes, but for:
dark people, Shin Megami Tensei
bright people, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Tales of

And for those with good reflexes and a quick thinking ability, Star Craft II.
For those who don't have that good reflexes, I recommend chess.

Well, those were my first recommendations, hope others will state theirs and get me to read or watch or do something I didn't until now.

I find myself agreeing with most of these XD Wheel of Time is probably my favorite series and Immortal Rain is good, though I haven't read it in a few years. I also recommend the manwa Threads of Time. It's rated pg-13 to R, fyi, and can get pretty gory. But the plot is fantastic, especially the twists.

@sr: It's quite an interesting read. I don't think it was that gory, but the twists were unexpected. I never even imagined the end. However I'm not a great fan of history, it drags some things.

@tox: I like it, damn the chapter before the last, I couldn't stop crying (I'm very easily moved, while reading...). But I wished more details about their life together. The epilogue covered pretty much everyone except the natsu and katsuji, which was kind of sad in my opinion. But still it was great. But I didn't read immortal rain yet, but I'll see to it in the next few days.

@Kycse: I know i couldnt stop crying!! It's so complicated... if it were me i would be like "NO I CANT CHOOOOOOOOSEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!" also natsu and katsuji were the ones who REALLY needed the epilogue :P

@kysce: Sorrryyy I haven't heard of any except Shin Megami Tensei - Persona (that my brother had just finished playing) Final Fantasy and the "Tales of" series. ^^; (I got to get to playing "Tales of Destiny" and the others some day... Only played Tales of Eternia OTL)

My Recommendations (I'm a person who likes comedy, so... )

Manga/Anime: (Just noticed that it's fairly lacking in shounen, ack, how can this be??)
-Skip beat
-Perfect Girl Revolution (It's quite funny at the start, but it gets a bit boring later on. Not recommended if you hate slow romance)
-Violinist of Hamlin (Not sure if I typed it correctly o.0 Some might not like the art though. Warning: Full of gags.)
-Noblesse (At last, a vampire manhwa that doesn't showcase romance! Action ftw)
-Bakuman (If you like light-hearted stories and want to know the process of how Jump works)
-Liar Game (If you like 'intelligent' stories)

Games:
-Disgaea - especially Hour of Darkness. It's a strategic RPG (Hilarity occurs)
-Prinny: Can I really be the Hero? (If you like Action platformers, and a challenge)
-DJ max (For those who like music rhythm games)
-Dissidia (For those familiar with the Final Fantasy series, and like some fighting/ PvP)
-Harvest Moon (Hey! It's an epic XD Though it might get a bit boring at times)
-Devil May Cry 4 (Never seen my brother play 1-3, so I can only recommend 4. The action is pretty good, and it's definitely enough to satisfy people with cravings for challenges with all its modes, from Normal:Human Mode all the way to Hell and Hell Mode, where it's one hit K.O for you if you get hit.)

Erm... enough for now. *cough* As you can tell my family is pretty much the 'gaming' type. *cough*

@ raylight: well, I alrady played most of them, even the remakes(the disgaea titles for the psp), except DJMaxPortable, since I'm very bad at such games, Prinny, because somehow I think Disgaea shouldn't be something else except an SRPG) and DMC4, since I don't have a 7-Gen console. But I played DMC3. Just killing those zombies, but bosses were actually quite difficult.

And you should really play a Shin Megami Tensei game. I would recommend Persona 3, I liked it the most of the Persona series, and perhaps Lucifers Call/Nocturne (Depending on where you live). The story in those games cover pretty much world destruction, but it's different than in Final Fantasy. Sometimes kinda like Visual Novels, since some choices effect the outcome. But overall, more dark, Since you have "demon friends".

Games:
.hack//, Well it's kind of old but still great. But I liked the G.U. series more, since the Battlesystem was far more active.
Monster Hunter: For those who have veryyyy much time to spend like me... (I wasted around 400+h with this game)
Star Ocean: The remakes for PSP are very nice. But it was too easy. Usually the plot goes like this: Someone from a civilized star ends up on a underdeveloped star. He encounters trouble, but still tries to come back to his world. If you Play SO3, be prepared for some great plottwists.
Wild Arms: I just love them. WA1/ACF(PS2 remake) was great. So I got hocked up on this series. I would recommend you to play 1-3 and 5, since I dislike 4, also I think 4s post apocalyptic story is great, but I dislike the gameplay, no worldmap and such :<

For those who like cute gals, :P Watch Invincible Youth. <3

For games, I highly recommend Fable 3 for the RPG types, even though I can't play it. T.T
And books, I recommend the Battle Royale, although its gory and stuff, but its a REALLY awesome book for those who like action/thriller battle stuff. :)

Even if I don't add a comment, it doesn't mean that they're bad, you know :/ Mostly because they're still ongoing, SOBS. Let's see...

Manga:
Saijou no Meii.
Nurarihyon no Mago, but stop at ch 51. After that, the story goes downhill.
Toriko, but stop at chapter 90-100 or so. It gets freakishly gay afterwards, I don't even.
Violinist of Hameln. The art style may be unbearable to some, but once you get through that stage, the story makes up for it. I can't count how many times this manga sent me crying - stories are (immensely) heart-breaking, in the positive way. Full of 'dirty' gags that are shown in a very light-hearted manner, complete with solid cast and angst of glory. I'd say this is more shonen than shonen manga currently running in Weekly Jump. Needless to say, the sequel, Shchelkunchik, is also worthy of your time.
Gekka Bijin.
Bamboo Blade. Starts out pretty bad at the beginning, but it becomes more intense later on.
Mushibugyo.

Mirai Nikki. The only series that showed me the terror of a yandere chara, really.
Olimpos.
Adekan. People say it's shonen-ai, but it's more seinen to me?! Pretty art which makes your eyes glued to it.
Brothers by Naruse Yoshiki. If you like cute and energetic shotas, try reading ti! Although the scanlators are working on it at the pace of a snail...

Glass Mask. ....It's a masterpiece, okay. Similar to Skip Beat in the sense that both heroine walk on the path of acting, but Glass Mask is more... captivating. Skip Beat experiences the usual story-gets-dry-after-a-few-arc, but this manga does the opposite. It also has an excellent rival character, which spices things up A LOT. A brilliant series which puts all shoujo manga to shame.
Victorian Romance Emma
Otomen. Girly guys trying their best to become manly. Solid and entertaining characters, completes with a lot of bishies! The manly heroine is likable as well!
Barakamon. Cute cast combined with great sense of humor. Probably the only manga who calls one of its main chara by "Villager no.1"
Keroro Gunso.
FLAT by Oodagiri Natsu
Cucumber Sandwich
Cafe Kichijoji de

Usagi Otoko, Tora Otoko (BL)
Chintsubu, Saa Koi ni Ochitamae by Yamato Nase (BL)
Inu to Oomawari-san (BL)
Honto Yajuu (BL)
Anything by Nakamura Shungiku, really. ANYTHING. (BL)
Mossore (BL)
Kirahoshi Dial (BL)
1/2 Darling (BL)

Anime:
Oh! Edo Rocket. Watch it for a good laugh!
Gintama.
Kurage Hime
Baccano!
Ristorante Paradiso
The World God Only Knows
Seto no Hanayome
Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Angel Beats!
Inazuma Eleven
Nijuu Mensou no Musume
Ookiku Furikabutte
Ghost Hunt
Slayers series
Togainu no Chi

Games:
Summon Night Swordcraft Story (GBA). The battle system is similar to Tales of Phantasia's battle system, but you're fighting alone. Like all old games, the sound and graphic and everything is old fashioned, but the characters - both guys, girls and ojii-sans - are all really cute! And the fact that you can hit on the characters is just A+++
Summon Night Swordcraft Story 2 (GBA). Better graphic than the first installment.
Fire Emblem series (GBA, DS)
Suikoden I, II (PS, PSP)
Mysims Kingdom (DS)
Seiken Densetsu series; Legend of Mana, Children of Mana, Sword of Mana, etc (PS, GBA, DS, PSII)
Gyakuten (ace attorney) series; Gyakuten Saiban, Gyakuten Kenji (DS). Apollo Justice left a bad impression on everyone's hearts, tho....
Rune Factory series (DS)
Taiko no Tatsujin (jpn, DS, PSP)
Culdcept (PSII, DS, xbox)
Breath of Fire IV (PS, maybe PSP as well?)
Otometeki Koi Kakumei! Love Revo (jpn, PC, DS w/o voice, PS2)
Atelier, Ar Tonelico and Mana Khemia Series (PS2, DS, PSP)
.Hack series (PS2)
Bokujou Monogatari / Harvest Moon series
Katamari series

Drama CD:
Hero Academy J
How Weather

Apop, one line is bad... Tsk tsk. Anyway, BL is Boy Love. It's to warn the BL-phobics to stay away from it. eg: Me. :P

I really dont like listing it all out, coz I really have too many recommendations... Lesse.. I'll only list out the ones that I don't think have been mentioned enough.

My all time favourites:
Manga:
Bakuman, for pure story and versatility of art.
Mirai Nikki, Story too and the introduction to Yandere characters to me too...
Hajime No Ippo, I know many ppl might disagree with me, but I like boxing.
All Rounder Meguru, And I like MMA too okay...
Hajimete No Aku, For the pure AWWWWW factor nowadays. And comedy.
Gamaran: For the fighting again. Oh darn, I AM violent...

Okay, that's all for now, I could probably recommend the whole mangafox, but hey!

Ps; I'm pretty sure most of you have already know this, but Togainu is also BL. Cool plot, characters and seiyuus, tho! Watch it at your own risk!
