Or don't travel with monks.
That's pretty similar to the wolf/sheep/cabbage across river riddle too.

And for the real pill answer, does it not involve using any other pills? Because there a few similar ways to Top's answer if you just use more pills.

Cut them all in half, 3 halves in each pile. You then know you have 1 B and 1/2 A in each pile. Take another A pill and cut it in half adding half of it to both. You now have 2 piles with a full A and B pill.

MY TURN!

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors in a row. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage. Other facts:

The Brit lives in the red house.
The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
The Dane drinks tea.
The green house is on the immediate left of the white house.
The green house's owner drinks coffee.
The owner who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
The owner living in the center house drinks milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
The owner who keeps the horse lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill.
The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
The German smokes Prince.
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
The owner who smokes Blends lives next to the one who drinks water.

The question is : WHO OWNS THE FISH?

To be honest I found it online, but also to be honest I solved it myself without cheating. So yeah. It isn't that hard, but it is rather tedious.

cutting up the pills is indeed the right way to go about it

Code:

Pile A Pile B
1/2 A 1/2 A
1/2 B 1/2 B
1/2 B 1/2 B

+1/2A +1/2A

Now both piles have 1 A and 1 B.

As for your question, it should be:
the german

edit:

full info
Code:

First Second Third Fourth Fifth
Norweg Dane Brit German Swede
Yellow Blue Red Green White
Water Tea Milk Coffee Beer
Cats Horse Bird Fish Dog
Dunhill Blends Pall M Prince Bluemaster

Next question:

0 + 0 = 2
1 + 1 = 0
2 + 2 = 0
3 + 3 = 0
4 + 4 = 2
5 + 5 = 0
6 + 6 = 2
7 + 7 = 0
8 + 8 = 4
9 + 9 = ?

Need to provide reasoning, of course.

Next question:

0 + 0 = 2
1 + 1 = 0
2 + 2 = 0
3 + 3 = 0
4 + 4 = 2
5 + 5 = 0
6 + 6 = 2
7 + 7 = 0
8 + 8 = 4
9 + 9 = ?

Need to provide reasoning, of course.
9 + 9 = 2 because the answer is the # of enclosed spaces in the added numbers. For example 9 + 8 = 3.

I will edit in a riddle when I think of one.
EDIT:
Dunno if it has been done but I've always liked this one.
Complete the next to lines in this series:
1
11
21
1211
111221
312211

Shouldn't be too hard.

EDIT2: Totally forgot I should wait for confirmation. Whatever I guess, just do mine if I am right, and ignore it otherwise.

13112221 (one three, one one, two two's, one one)
1113213211 (one one, one three, two ones, three two's, one one)

and your answer about the enclosed spaces was right.

haha oops, must be going blind, or stupid. maybe both.

heres the next one, it's kinda tricky

You and two of your friends got captured by the NPCs of Second Life. They lock all three of you in a room, tying each of your hands behind the backs. It turns out the chains that they bind you with are a bit rusty, and since all three of you are warriors, any one of you can break the chains and set yourself free.
However, they placed an alarm system on all three of you that would detect any sudden movements. The alarm system only works on one hand though, so if the alarm is set up on your right hand, if you break the chains with your left hand, the alarm would not sound and you'd be able to safely free yourself and your friends. Unfortunately, there's absolutely no way for you to signal to your friends or otherwise communicate in any way.

You can also see which hand the alarms were set up on both of your friends' hands, but you obviously can't see which one it is on for your own hands. This is true for your friends, as well.
You are assuming that the NPCs just used a random number generator to independently decide which hand to put the alarm on each of you (i.e. the chances of any of the combinations of left and right hand for all three of you is equally likely)
Of course, all three of you are super intelligent, having graduated from the same university as Gui, so you all know exactly what strategy to use to maximize your chances of success given the circumstances.

What is this strategy and what's the chance of success?

P.S. If two (or all three) of you try to make an attempt at the same time, then the alarm would sound even if only one of you pull with the wrong hand.

Dunno if this is right but the first thing I come up with is to check which hand they have monitored.
If both of them have the same hand monitored you break the opposite lock, as the odds of all three being the same hand are unlikely. At least one of you would see both others as having the opposite hand locked, and that person would act. This doesn't work if all three are on the same hand, but I think the chance of that is like 12.5% or something. Anyway thats my answer.

yep, that's correct.

Of the eight possible combinations, only two are the same for all three.
So your chances of getting is right is 6/8, 75%. Not bad.

In the Southern Continent of Second Life, postage costs can be anywhere from 1 gold to 15 gold, and you can only fit up to three stamps on an envelope.

They only have three denominations of stamps, but it covers the entire range of postage costs. What are the denominations of the three stamps?

Specifically I feel dumb because that was the FIRST combo I thought of but I passed it by thinking it didn't work for some reason.

and all along i thought i graduated from an insane university.

anyway

you find a piece of paper with a bunch of words. unfortunately only the last three letters are there:

_ _ _ E U M
_ _ _ N D A
_ _ _ I G O
_ _ _ P H Y
_ _ _ N I S
_ _ _ T H Y

If you get all six words, and take the first letters from all of them, you can put them together to get yet another word. What is that word?

MUSEUM

INDIGO
TROPHY
TENNIS/ADONIS
WORTHY/FILTHY/EARTHY/APATHY/SMITHY

That's as far as I got. I might have it but I'm tired right now so I'll finish later.

EDIT: Wait is it just the first letter of each, or all of the first three letters of each? And if the latter, does it use every letter? Because I have been working with just the first single letters.
