Hey guys. It's me. Before I was working on a story you may not have read (Blood Overture). I originally started that work some years back and continued it recently, but the setting from two years ago and the story I had in mind now didn't mix too well. Probably should have used a different setting for that story. Shame. The prospect of timespace-travelling gods and abominations bending the laws of nature being pitted against each other was a good one. Oh well. I'm sorry Ruthven, you god-devouring abomination.

Anyway, I have another setting (or part of one) in mind now, but I don't know what to do with it. Any opinions or advice on what to do with this setting (for example, genre, story, anything) would be nice. Just need something to give me a boost.

This next story takes place on a world similar yet different to earth. In the same way that one side of the moon is always facing earth, one side of this planet is always facing the sun. This leads to a environment in which one half of the planet is a scorching desert in perpetual daylight, and the other half of the planet is a frozen wasteland in perpetual night. The most habitable part of the planet is the divide between light and shadow, a seasonless strip of the planet in eternal twilight.

I was thinking of a sci-fi setting, though I suppose fantasy would also work. In terms of story, I have nothing. Need to work on it more. The inhabitants will be human though - or at least humanoid. As you can see, this isn't much to work with. That's why I need your help. Anything you'd recommend?

Of course, I don't want this to be too cheerful of a story. Maybe a tragedy. At least, I want there to be some very gut-wrenching moments (like in "A Fairy Tale for the Demon Lord"; poor knight... all you did wrong was love what you could not have...).

This place is pretty dead though. Not sure how many of you will reply. I'd ask the guys at OM forums, but those guys are never helpful. Methinks they care for nothing.
