Indeed Alpz, go while you still can! I frequently go to Abra but I don't have the luxury of time going to these far-flung places. Summer would be the ideal time to visit as you won't be constrained by strong current when crossing river as you need to ride a raft to cross the other side. There are also places where you need a horse to travel otherwise you do the old-fashioned way of "saka-mobile" as there are no access roads but only foot paths and/or hunter trails. These are the highland parts of Abra where our brothers Tinguians/ Itnegs inhabit.(Am I right Ms. Sionthede?). And they speak the kankanai dialect perhaps because they are neighbors with the Western municipalities of MP particularly Besao & Sagada. I just wonder where that on-going road-concreting leads. Is this a national or provincial road? anyhow, it's nice to note that such project is introduced into this parts of Abra. As we all know, politics has much to say in the implementation of government projects. Edited by Peter Paul, Mon 08 Mar 2010 16:16:30.
