Sabangan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 9,098 people in 1,738 households. Barangays Sabangan is politically subdivided into 15 barangays. The terrain is generally rugged and mountainous. About 86.58% of the total land area is of mountains and high hills and slopes covered with forest. There are many creeks, rivers and swamps. The highest elevation is 2,714 meters above sea level located at the eastern part, which is mountain kalawitan, the highest peak of the highest mountain in the municipality. The lowest elevation can be located at barangay Poblacion, Lagan,Losad with an average elevation of 1,000 meters. Climate The climate is moderately warm with two pronounced seasons: the season starts in the month of June and usually ends in October while the dry usually occurs from November to May. Occurrence of strong winds usually occurs in South to North directions or vice versa. Typhoon and floods usually occur during the months of November and December.
