Chelsea are reported to be closing in on a swoop for Daniel Alves after the Seville full-back arrived in London for talks.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho has been targeting a new right-back all summer and Alves has always been his number one target even though Tottenham's Pascal Chimbonda is also on his wanted list.
Reports now claim that Chelsea are the verge of wrapping up a deal after the player's agents arrived for talks and if personal terms can be agreed then the Blues will match Seville's valuation.
The Spanish outfit are already thought to have rejected a couple of offers from the Blues but are ready to give in if Chelsea match their £20million valuation.
Mourinho has hardly spent any cash compared to previous summers but is now ready to go big in an attempt to bring Brazilian star to Stamford Bridge

I for one would welcome him as Johnson gives me the jitters when anyone runs at him and whenever he goes in for a tackle, and Paulo gets a nosebleed whenever he passes the halfway line.

Yes please

Swap deal for Lampard?

Could be if we’re serious about running as a proper business. But I’m sure Roman would fork out if Slippery Pete asked nicely.

Whatever happened to Micah Richards?

Don’t know. But as he’s not being linked with anyone I can only guess that Cith have put up a great big “NOT FOR SALE” sign.

Plus now they have loads of money and don't need to sell him anymore, and will want to build on their squad i would guess..

That probably is close to the mark - We were after him too and he stated he'd love to join us. Good player too :chin:

Maybe he'll get a ladyboy bonus for staying :chin:

DANIEL ALVES has confirmed he is interested in trading Sevilla for Chelsea.

The Brazilian full-back has been linked with a £20million move to Stamford Bridge.

He claims he is happy to stay in Spain but is open to serious offers.

Alves, 24, said: "I am flattered that Chelsea are interested in me.

"The career of a footballer is very short and it's necessary to take advantage of all the opportunities that come your way.

"I always said that I wanted to leave Sevilla by the front door, especially after the great season we've had.

"It's not that I want to leave, but I cannot turn down the opportunities I have."

Chelsea are ready to launch a mega offer for Sevilla wing-back Daniel Alves.

With Real Madrid in talks over the double signing of Michael Ballack and Arjen Robben, Chelsea will use the cash raised to bid for Brazilian Dani Alves.

The 24-year-old said: "You have to make the most of your opportunities - a footballer's career is very short. I would like that if an offer came in for me."

Chelsea are believed to be prepared to more than double Alves £35,000-a-week Sevilla wages.

If you want him as RB, forget it, he is a shite defender, who wanders out position all game. If you want him as RW he is very good player

Well Chelsea do want an attacking RB and he just about fits the bill "thumb"

Plus it seems he's on the way in, just as long as Robben goes..which seems likelier by the day

The £20m-rated 24-year-old says Chelsea is where he wants to go - but will his club Sevilla let him?

"(Chelsea) is a wonderful opportunity and I don't want to let it pass," said Alves.

"Sevilla should look after me. In the four years I have been here I've given my best. I just want them to listen."
He added: "We've been looking at Chelsea's offer for a while and that's the one that interests me."

Alves wants his future resolved by 15 August when Sevilla play AEK Athens in a Champions League qualifier.

"If I play for Sevilla in that match, I won't be able to play in the Champions League for another team so I hope everything can be sorted out as soon as possible," he stated.

Alves has been at Sevilla for four-and-a-half seasons and played a prominent role as the Rojiblancos won back-to-back Uefa Cups

The BBC are reporting that Sevilla have turned down 2 bids from 2 different clubs for Alves. The clubs are not named.

One bid was for about £21m and the other for about £23m.

How much would you be prepared to pay for him?
