How long do you reckon he's out for?

Sky Sports are saying he'll definitely miss the game against Villa on Sunday and is a 'major doubt' for the England games against Israel and Russia

One way of getting Lamps and Gerrard to play together: tie their bad legs together and imagine that they are in a three-legged race

Always business,never personal.
Just curious about summit.
With Frank now being 29 (right?) and considering the amount of unfair stick that he's been getting from certain sections of the england support do you think it might be in his mind to call it a day for England?
Personally I wouldn't blame him if he did and it would only be of benefit to you but where do you folks stand on this?

The way Frank talks about playing for England I’d have to say it would shock my socks off if he did. Personally, I also don’t like to see anyone retire from their national teams as I think it should be an honour to play. However, I also recognise that it can only be of benefit to Chelsea so there would be a part of me secretly and selfishly pleased if he did. :blush2:

I agree that you should want to pull on the national shirt but I can also understand that some players do.
Scholes and Shearer for their clubs,Carra because he wouldn't get picked unless everyone else was dead and IF (and it's a big if) Lampard did it would be understandable given the amount of s***e he's had to put up with.

If I’m totally honest and it was Gerrard in Lamps boat and he quit I would say that he had 100% backing of management and he’s quit because a few fans ‘don’t understand him’? Grow a set of nads and be a man yer big girls blouse. So I need to apply that logic to Lamps as well. :bat:

England coach Steve McClaren claims Frank Lampard is "50-50" to play in next week's Euro 2008 qualifying match against Russia.

Lampard has been ruled out of Saturday's encounter with Israel because of a thigh muscle tear.
