Chelsea are reportedly lining up a move for Barcelona's young midfielder Giovani Dos Santos, who has a £13.5million buy-out clause.

The 18-year-old Mexican is tipped for great things at the Nou Camp after impressing in pre-season and he made his first-team debut against Athletic Bilbao last week.

However, the youngster currently has a £13.5million buy-out clause in his contract, and The Sun reports that the Blues want to snatch the player before he signs a new deal with the Catalans.

Barca desperately want to tie Dos Santos down to a new, long-term contract with a buy-out clause closer to £67million, but the player claims that while negotiations are ongoing, nothing has yet been agreed.

"I haven't signed - we're still talking," he said.

"With so many stars at Barcelona, sometimes I think it would be good if football was played with 12 as that way I wouldn't be left out."
