"RAFA: JAMIE'S CHARACTER IS VITAL Jimmy Rice 14 September 2007 Rafa Benitez admits he couldn't put a price on the contribution of Jamie Carragher as the centre-back prepares to make his comeback from a broken rib. Carragher is expected to return for Saturday's trip to Portsmouth after three weeks on the sidelines. Liverpool might have recorded two victories in his absence, but Benitez is in no doubt about the value of his vice-captain. "I think it's important to have the centre-backs fit, but in this case it's not just the player and his position, it's also the character he has," said the Spaniard. "We want all the players available, but especially players like Carra because he has the kind of mentality which helps other players. "I knew he was good before I arrived because my Valencia team had played against Liverpool. I knew all the players but it was clear watching him with his teammates how important he was. "He has passion, which adds something to the team in every game and every training session." |

Scares me.
 But I get what Rafa means,he leads by example like Stevie does and he's probably the most vocal member of the team we have and,too be honest, when he got injured I was worried that we wouldn't have that voice on the pitch, what with Stevie being crocked also, but the other players stepped up and took it on. One of my favorite moment's was Arbeloa balling someone out for a lapse in concentration in,what looked like, about 15 different languges  |
