Last season if we played garbage we lost. Today we played poorly and got a point. It shouldn't be too much of a step to be up there with the jammie gets who play poorly and steal all 3 points in injury time. |

Well United only got a point there and its always a tough place to go. TBH I'm disappointed that Gerrard, Torres and Babel didn't start and I feel with those 3 in from the start we could have taken all 3 points. If the Premiership is our priority, as Rafa has said it is I'm fairly sure, then why are we resting players for the CL when it could risk us losing points in the league? I'm abit confused by that and I know we have a rotation policy but surely we need to have a solid core of the side, for example, Reina, Carragher, Gerrard and Torres. We have a great squad this season but rotating our best players for tough games away from home could really cost us IMO and while I'm not at all against us rotating the side I think for games like todays we need to have our best players playing. However at the plus side at least we didn't lose like, as has been mentioned, last season and in the past we would have done. So maybe its a point gained rather than 2 dropped? |

well with players coming back from internationals i can understand him giving them a rest. tired bodies and playing against an aggressive fighting and determined portsmouth. it was a calculated risk that almost came off (we got a point). we need a winning start in the CL campaign so i can understand his reticence to start without gerrard et al. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the weak link is Sissoko. Bloody clueless. I can understand why Rafa started the way he did, but it was getting obvious by half time what was happening. Should have rung the changes then really. However, still not conceded from open play and got away with a poor performance with a point. Still looking ok to me :ale: |

A better team would have murdered us yesterday. Utaka should have scored that chance while what really worried me was our inability to make Calamity work, especially in those first twenty minutes where a better team and a higher tempo could have blown them away. Xabi had another poor game, Sissokos great but just doesn't cut it when we have to take the game to the opposition, Benayoun was shite and Arbeloa had a shocker. Disappointing as most of them have had a fairly good start to the season. Voronin still looks an astute signing and Torres showed when it comes to our forwards he really is a class apart when he came on though he should have done better with his chance. Also having watched it on Skysports I feel despite his memorable closet kopite moments Andy Gray shouldn't be commentating on a Liverpool game. He's not impartial and spends the game goading us. Another annoying game was the insistance that we'd have to win this game if we were to stand a chance of winning the title and the fact United drew there had no significance. They also failed to mention United lost at Fratton Park last season and still won the league. Looking back though I am happy with a point simply because it could really have been worse and despite playing poorly we've got away with it. |

IMO Fratton Park is one of the hardest aways in the league (the top 3 and the Derby are probably harder) Getting a point from there is a good result. Last season we'd have lost this type of game. Plus if you'd offered me a the beginning of the season that we'd be 2 points behind Arsenal and level on points with Utd and Chelsea (with a game in hand on them both) I'd have ripped your arm off. |

Pompey away is now what Bolton away was for the last few seasons. Not many will win there. A point is a decent result away from home after the intl break. |

i dont think they did all that bad, but liverpool need to win games like this ... look at arsenal and Man u, both played poor (especailly arsenal) both should have lost, yet both won ... title winning teams just win, even when they lose liverpool need to start doing this |

No excuses,it was a bad performance. No "Oh it was a good away point",no "Pompey's a tough place to go.". We just played badly and got away with it. Like I've already said I hope that's our s***e performance for the season out of the way now. I don't expect the boys to play anything at all like that against Porto or B'Ham over the next week. And they won't. And we really can't use Inter-National Break as an excuse as Agger got taken off for Denmark after about 20 minutes as did Voronin,Crouch played about 10 and the rest we're either unused subs or not involved. It was just a bad game. |

some bugger would call that the hallmark of champions...... it was a poor game and if pompey had taken chances we would have lost considering only chelsea and charlton won there last season a point is decent and we would have taken it at the start however alonso was bloody useless we can put this behind us with a home win against birmingham.... |

Only if we'd played badly and won. The fact is this isn't like the past few season's where we've had too make excuse's because we haven't had the strength in depth to be able to compete. This squad is the best one we've had in years and one that could/should be up there challenging for the title come the end of the season. Hell,it's good enough to win it. So we shouldn't have to be making excuse's. Players moan about wanting to play so when their given the chance they should take it with both hands, which is what they've done for every game this season except for the game on Saturday. It wasn't good enough. I'm not saying it's the end of the world as it was just one bad game but it did pish me off no end because the team we sent out was easily capable of winning that game, yet for whatever reason, they didn't perform. |

and normally when we play badly we lose...... im convinced that we won't perform that badly again....... it's a stutter but not a fully blown crisis as some people would have you make out.... |

probably reading over reaction amongst some quarters immediately after the game :ale: however we are all sensible enough to realise that it was a bad performance yes but credential damaging no |

I'd be worried if we never looked like scoring, but we had some good chances to win it. |
