"Spanish defender set to sign
Last Updated: Mon, 17 Sep 2007 08:42

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is expected to tie up a deal to bring young Spanish star Daniel Sanchez Ayala to Anfield later this week.

Despite their best efforts to keep him, his present club Sevilla have confirmed that the 17-year-old has agreed terms with Liverpool after turning down a professional contract with them.

Although he had no professional deal with Sevilla he had come through their youth ranks so there will be a compensation package to be agreed between the two clubs.

The defender is said to have agreed a three-year deal with the Reds and he is expected on Merseyside at some point later this week to complete the move."

Another young player, another step forward to the future.
Good Work Rafa Fella.

Just a pity it's another Spaniard. No problem with having foreign players myself, but it's shamefully indicative of the English talent available.

Whatever genuine talent is there is usually over hyped & vastly overpriced.
