"HYYPIA: TIREDNESS NO EXCUSE
Paul Hassall 20 September 2007

Sami Hyypia reflected on Liverpool's Champions League point in Porto and refused to blame their sluggish first-half display on fatigue.
The giant Finn, who is now likely to feature more prominently in the first-team following the news of Daniel Agger's injury, hopes the performance will give the side a wake up call ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash at home to Birmingham City.

"I don't know what was wrong," he said.

"It can't be tiredness because we have had enough time to prepare for this game and 11 players should be motivated to play in the Champions League.

"But to be honest, Porto are a very good side and they showed all game that they can play football.

"It could be a kick up the backside. We understand we didn't play well but still got the point which is very important and we realise what we have to do to get a better result, it can work that way."

As Sami said hopefully this is the kick up the arse we need.
We've looked shoddy in the past couple of games after a brilliant start to the season so now we need to get back in the groove against B'Ham.
Which isn't gonna be easy.
Not because I rate the Brum up there with the likes of The Mancs,Le Arse and Chelsea but because their gonna come park the bus.
But we have the ability to break teams down that do that now as oppossed to the past few season's where we've struggled at times to do so.
Just hope that our usual slow start to the season dosen't just shift itself across after a couple of weeks.
(But it won't..I HAVE FAITH!!!!!)
