Ok Ive been away.... I watched the game in a chelsea pub on Sunday... No one expected chelsea to win this game. there was no shock there, although we were in high spirits when we began to watch the game, as the players we on the ball imo. The red card really was not a red, this killed the game. I am not saying we would have won, but the game had been going well before that.I hate watching a fight for a draw like that. Even with 10 men we were not to bad in the first half. A few odd decisions later including a man U goal after extra time pretty much summed up the week... so the second half and their obligatory penalty was no big surprise. The fans who I go to football with and others I watch it in the pub with were pretty much split in opinion. some were not amused with the choice of manager at all ( although most feel it s only a temp situation).A few comments that he should be managing spurs were thrown about. The Roman issue gets the fans going most. The split in opinion over Roman and if they even want him there now or not looks to be pretty much age related. Many younger fans are not happy..the older ones feel this is football and they have seen many come and go. I remember almost the same outcry when Vialli went and then the chanting of Ranieri when Jose first arrived. All I can say is football is a fickle game...much adored managers come and go and if you support a club you have to go with the flow, even if he is the most successful manager ever. Roman wanted chelsea to be the biggest club in the world, I cant see him changing his mind, he looks like a man who always gets his own way. I guess other fans will find it all highley amusing and some may be relieved thinking we are not in their way when it come to EPL titles and other less important trophies. I can only say, all that has changed in the manager, the club and the owner still have the same goal. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next...but if it all goes tits up, well its not nice, but I have supported chelsea for a fair few decades ( first game chelsea v stoke) I will keep the blue flag flying whatever happens. At the end of the day Roman got us Jose in the first place, I am not about to slag the guy off. |
