The defender faces a club-versus-country dilemma after UEFA rescheduled Serbia's twice-postponed Euro 2008 qualifier against Kazakhstan for the weekend. The Group A clash was a victim of snow on Saturday, but plans to restage it yesterday also fell through when the weather deteriorated overnight. A UEFA spokesman said: "With 14cm of snow on the playing surface, the match could not be played." Serbia must beat Poland on Wednesday to keep alive their hopes of qualifying and hope Portugal lose to Finland. Should Portugal get a point, Serbia's game with Kazakhstan would be meaningless - and Vidic could be freed to play for United. :tantrum: |

If Serbia have to beat Poland and hope Portugal lose to Finland, I think it's fair to say that it's highly unlikely the game against Kazakhstan will be meaningful. And I think Serbia could beat the Borat's without Vidic anyway :lmao: |

Hmm...

I'll be really annoyed if they don't release him, our game is far more important than an international that will be meaningless anyway. Too many internationals mid-season, it's really frustrating. |

Sir Alex Ferguson will have the final say over whether Nemanja Vidic plays for Manchester United or Serbia next weekend. Ferguson is not due back at United's Carrington training complex until Thursday but the Scot has been alerted to Vidic's possible participation in his country's twice-postponed Euro 2008 qualifier with Kazakhstan. Uefa have confirmed that, although the game is a competitive one, as it now falls outside a Fifa allocated 'international window' - thanks to the heavy snowfalls that have hit Belgrade - Serbia have no automatic right to the keep the defender after Wednesday's clash with Poland. It means that Ferguson must decide whether to release Vidic from Saturday's clash with Bolton. The dilemma is made more tricky at the moment because Serbia still have an outside chance of qualifying. However, that remote hope will be extinguished if Portugal pick up a point from their home game with Finland. Ferguson has further problems with Carlos Tevez not due back to training until Friday after completing Argentina's World Cup qualifier in Colombia. |

Pick him Fergie! The game against Kazakhstan will probably be meaningless anyway. |
