PREMIER LEAGUE & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS 07/08

Champions League, Group F match Date: Tuesday, 27 November Kick-off: 1945 GMT Venue: Old Trafford This is a great opportunity for United to cement their place as group winners so I'm praying that Fergie doesn't play too many inexperienced players in the starting eleven. The last thing we want is to go to Roma needing a result. |

Well I have a feeling Nani, Anderson & Eagles will start as Giggs probably won't play twice in 4 days, and if Fergie was telling the truth then Ronaldo will probably be on the bench  |

Double injury boost for United Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Vidic are both fit to face Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night in United's penultimate Champions League Group F match. The pair were key absentees in the 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, but both trained with the rest of the squad at Carrington on Monday and Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed they are in contention for a starting berth against the Portuguese side. "Vidic and Ronaldo are both fit," he said at his pre-match press conference. "They'll be in the squad for Tuesday night." Sir Alex hinted that Portuguese stars Ronaldo and Nani should both start, while Darren Fletcher, John O'Shea and Tomasz Kuszczak are also likely to make the first eleven. But the Reds manager insisted he won't be making too many changes. "The incentives to win are huge for us," said Sir Alex. "If we win we've won the group and we'll be seeded for the knockout stage. That's important. We've also got an important game against Liverpool straight after the Roma game. "Beating Sporting would allow us to [rest players] against Roma. But, our next two results matter to Sporting and Roma, so we have to be fair to both teams and we will be determined to win on Tuesday." I reckon the team could be... Quality free kick from Ronaldo. Second half was much improved, Fergie made the right choices at half time. Couldn't work Carrick out tonight, he was so hit & miss it was unreal, gave the ball away alot but played quite well in other places  |

I thought Carrick played well tonight rearly gave the ball away and was always a outlet for the defenders. My only prob was he didnt play enough forward passes to many sideways |

PIG- Didnt have much to do but bad position for the goal-5 O Shea Terrible crossing all night by JOS but got himself in good attacking positions-6 Vidic- Trying to make up for lost time usual 100% given should have scored at least one-7 Rio- had a quiet game didnt pass the ball as much as normal 6 Evra- MOTM Great going forward always looking for the ball- Dive no comment 8 Carrick see above 7 Fletcher/Nani very disappointing first half had no impact and rightly subed 5 Anderson- Also very quiet game needed to be further forward with Carrick sitting 6 Ronaldo- Started well but went missing for the rest of the 1st half was more of a treat in the 2nd and even score a FREE KICK. 7 Saha- Nothing till the second half then with tevez playing up there with him was brought into the game more and won few headers to set up attacks 6 Subs Tevez- Sparked us into life nearly everything in the second half went through him. 8 Giggs- EH sub standard 5 Hargreves- looked full of energy and should have scored 6 |

Carrick had a pretty poor first half imo. I would have given Giggs a 6, otherwise seems fair. |

Very fragmented tonight but we have renderd the Roma game meaningless so thats perfect. Some of Anderson's passing was a joy to watch! But i hope Saha can regain at least some form he wasn't good tonight. And good to see Fergie making the changes at half time. What did everybody make of Miguel Veloso then? |

Veloso had a decent game kept Anderson quiet for most of the game which i think was his role tonight. Broke up plenty of attacks an pushed his team on in the first half. Looks like he could turn into a very good player "thumb" |

In what way? it looked like he didn't know what to do to me, on the one hand he just scored against his old club - who he has a good relationship with the fans and the club itself, but on the other he's just scored a brilliant free kick in the 93rd minute to win the game  |
