PREMIER LEAGUE & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS 07/08

Does anyone else feel that the international break did it for us at the weekend?

Before all the players went away we were firing on all cylinders and playing the best football I've seen all season. Now the flow has been interrupted and we need time to get back in the groove again.

The sooner all internationals are scrapped the better because they're just a farce and I for one have absolutely no interest in them whatsoever.

Not having Rooney, Ronaldo or Scholes was a factor.

Starting with 2 defensive midfield players was a factor (why didn't Anderson start?)

Starting Pique instead of O'Shea was a factor (albeit for unforeseen circumstances).

The International break could have been a factor. Bolton had players away on International duty too but, whereas we lost Ronaldo to fatigue, the break gave enough time for Anelka to get fit. That guy is a match winner and proved that on Saturday. I'm still wondering why we didn't bid for him in the summer...

Hmm...
I'll admit that before the match I probably would have started Pique ahead of O'Shea, his confidence was on the rise, although now it's probably shredded

Unfortunately internationals won't be scrapped, they just need to stop sticking them bang in the middle of everything :tantrum:
