well said chromey, we were never going to go the full season without defeat, don't think it will be much of a confidence knocker, it just looked like they went out there with the mentality that they only had to turn up to win, hopefully that will bring our players back down to earth with a bump and remind them that they have to work hard for a win, whoever the opposition are

Hang em first. Question em later.
Hold on, who are you and what have you done with Chromey?

I'm sorry but any other time we've lost or played poorly you've severly criticised the team. So what's happened now? I for one feel like they need to be criticised for this performance along with Rafa's selection for the day. I think both the team and Rafa obviously had their minds on the Marsielle and Man Utd games. Yes there was a bit of misfortune in the game but it wasn't really a match winning performance on display yesterday.

I have to concur with Blue Ice, with 20 minutes to go why give up? That's not we're all about is it?

I'm not calling for Rafa to be sacked, I'm not saying players should be sold. I'm just saying with 20 minutes to go we are 1 team that should know the game isn't over till the full time whistle goes. I think it's going to be a bad 7 days for us.

Our form has been good and the goals have come. The aberation of saturdays game happens to most teams every season.
As for the substitutions we need our match winners as fresh as possible for the CL match, its a no brainer.
What happens against Utd can only be disscussed effectivley after the CL game. Our players should need no motivation for either game, so bring them on and roll the dice.

I think the manager screwed up with the formation he deployed (it makes no logical sense playing Crouch and Voronin in those positions in that formation) but as for the subs, the other view is that he's choosing his battles.

If we go out of the CL on Weds, one suspects it might have repercussions with the owners...

Definitely agree on the formation issue and deployment of certain players in those positions. He's tried before and it hadn't worked - why do it again?

We know we operate best in a 4-4-2. All he had to do was to use either Babel or Kewell wide left.

Whilst I agree that this result doesn't (or at least shouldn't) make too much difference, it was 3 points for the taking and the Arsenal loss at Boro shows just how close we'd now be if it had gone well.

Bring on the froggies on Tuesday :bat:
