Utd are going to moscow
I always thought Rio was a complete cock.
I thought he had potential but would never reach it, and was too busy showboating.

I think since playing with Vidic he has realised that the Utd fans love a bit of hard work as much as silky skills.

I think Rio has now become the complete defender and for my money he is our player of the year to date by a long way. Even with Rooney, Ronaldo, Evra, Anderson etc... I think Rio is shining above them all.

Also think Hargreaves looks like he could be the real deal when he gets fit and settles into team on a long run of games.

Hmm...
He's always been that player, just lapses in concentration and people highlighting his mistakes makes him seem a worse player, If Terry had every single tiny flaw exposed by every commentator as Rio has he'd be playing for Wigan now.

Look how much we missed him on his ban :ale:

Agreed.

I think Rio should have the armband before Giggsy....based on leadership qualities.

Giggs will always get it beofre him based on service to the club but IMO it doesnt really matter who has it once there is plenty of leaders on the pitch

PREMIER LEAGUE & EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS 07/08

Ferdinand's being doing the business on the pitch for quite a while now. It's just that he's found the perfect partner in Vidic.

As for his conduct off the pitch; well, I'm still to be convinced. Everyone knows he's in it for the money and I'm sick of hearing about his "other projects" outside of football. Just shut the fuck up and remember that you're representing the greatest football team in the World, not some muppet outfit like Leeds United.

If only we had a squad full of Paul Scholes.

Capello to make Man Utd's Ferdinand England captain

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand is being lined up to be England's next captain.
The Daily Star says England boss Fabio Capello is planning to make Ferdinand his new captain.

There are calls from inside the FA to replace Chelsea defender John Terry as Three Lions skipper.
