We hammered Villa 4-1 in the league earlier this season but they are a good team in good form. Also, it's likely that Fergie will rest a few players so I can see this one ending as a draw although I'm hoping we can snatch a win to avoid a replay.

Fergie has revealed that VDS will start in goal against Villa.

I'm glad to see him back but I'm a bit surprised TK hasn't been given the nod to carry on considering it's a cup game.

Hmm...
Give VDS chance to get back in the groove I suppose, I don't expect Ronaldo to start, and we're without Tevez obviously, but at least Evra, Anderson and Hargreaves will be relatively fresh after playing fewer games over the past couple of weeks, and Rooney's had a rest aswell even if he was ill, I think:

VDS

Evra
Rio (Pique?)
Vidic
O'Shea/Brown

Giggs
Anderson
Hargreaves
Nani/Park

Rooney
Saha

Strong team I know, but we shouldn't underestimate Villa, I have a feeling Carrick will be dropped aswell :chin:

Why do they even bother playing Man Utd - Villa games? It's a waste of everyone's time, just give the win to Utd and forgo the rising and subsequent dashing of hopes. :(

Makes you wonder why we can never bloody beat them.

I thought it was a pretty boring game, we could all see that Rooney would make the difference when he eventually came on, and he did.

Oh well, 4th round, to say we weren't even supposed to play Villa

Everyone has their bogey teams. Looks like ours is West Ham at the moment.

Great win today by United with Rooney making the difference when he came on.
Ronaldo got his usual goal towards the end and when that went in you felt like it was game over because they were never going to score.

Great defencive performance by the whole team TBA i dont think Villa even had a shot on target.

Two questions about giggs
1- why play him up forward he never does anything :chin:
2- why after 17 years in the first team he still wont use his right foot

A boring and tightly contested affair...until Rooney came on! You could tell he was desperate to play. He must have been warming up for 20 minutes!

In an interview for MUTV he admitted that it's his 'boyhood dream' to win the FA Cup and after losing 2 finals he seems determined to make this the year he does.
