As it looks like he maybe on his way do people think it would be worth having a bid for him ? do people think rafa would want him ? would he want to go back to liverpool knowing chelsea also want him and after what happened with GH ? would rafa want him with his known chequered past or has he calmed down a lot or do you think the money he would cost would be better off being used for a creative wide man or getting mascher ? choices choices  |

Don't like him but he sticks the ball in the net, unlike half our current strikeforce. Wasn't sorry when we didn't sign him before, but he's always been something of a mercenary and Chelsea are a top club and are paying the money - we wouldn't get him now anyway. |

But I was blindly optimistic that Diouf was amazing and would deliver the title. Like you are about Kuyt. Bitching again Phil? Not like you... |

who is bitching ? not me , not sure i can think of many people who would of taken diouf over anelka even at that time and can quite clearly remember people not happy about it . were have i said kuyt would deliver the title ? i have said he does a good job for liverpool and works well with torres and our current manager seems to think so too and from what i have seen when they have played together they have worked well together , and will stick with that until i see different . but this thread was about the merits of anelka to the team and if he would be worth the outlay or rather spend the money elsewhere , if you wanna pick holes in every post i make cause your board or you get a kick out off it away you go , knock yourself out , doesnt bother me either way . |

Evening people. Thought i'd pop in. Anelka is a poor man's Torres - we don't need him - let the chavs have him. |

Robbie didn't like him as a teammate, that's enough for me. |

He's 28, he only stays at any one club for a year. He's undoubtedly a miserable sulky bastard and if we have £15M to spare it could be much better spent elsewhere. |

Van Der Vaart would prob cost close to that too and i couldn't really see himself and Gerrard working well in the Midfield together |

Gerrard apparently quite liked him - not that I've read his autobiography or anything when I'm having a dump. I think a strikeforce of Anelka and Torres would be quite frankly, a bit scary. Your loss I suppose. Drogba and Anelka - have to admit, it's got potential. I think so anyway. |

Rafa's made more than enough mistakes with strikers, he doesn't really want to make another one. the answer is an emphatic no. |

true mate but last time he arrived after not playing in the prem for a while and not playing at all for a while - this time he has shown he can score 15 plus goals a season for both bolton and manchester and at around 10-15 mil is not bad a price at all when you think berbatov is a year younger and is valued at 30 mil and scores less ? |

Erm he was at Man City for three years. Got previous I know but I have heard enough people say he's not the le Sulk character the press portry him to be. At least not anymore anyway. Liverpool to me, seem to be heavily reliant on Torres for goals, as the other three strikers aren't bringing in their share of goals. Chelsea are in a similar predicament as we are relaint on Drogba, and to a lesser extent Kalou which is why we have a need for an Anelka type striker. Goals generally win games at the end of the day |
