It doesn't matter a feck who is in charge; what matters is how much money you give them. Look at this season and the players Rafa has bought. You get what you pay for and clearly we did with Voronin but Babel, Lucas and Torres have given us so much to be optimistic about. If you can give Maureen £60m quid then you can give it to Rafa. I have no doubt the man could deliver. What HAS shaken the club this season is the lack of confidence in the owners to follow up on the big promises. I mean, FFS, part of their buyout loan funded last close-season's transfers and is still waiting to be repaid. Any refinancing loan will have to incorporate that. If they're having to borrow to pay off money they borrowed for LAST summer's transfers that hardly bodes well for the future does it? I say it again: Rafa has got nowt to do with this. He's getting caught in the middle between owners whose hearts may be in the right place, but there's clearly no money to put where their mouths are, and players of whom some may have expected to leave in the new era but now may find they're clung onto for no other reason that we can't bring in anyone to replace them. Bad combination imo. |

It doesn't bear thinking about <shudder>. If the rumours are true he's contacted G&H and pimped himself for the job - real ethical there eh- try and push another manager out of his job? He must know he would not exactly be welcomed by most Liverpool fans and I can think the only reason is to have another pop at Rafa - which only goes to show that he is still narked and Rafa did get under his skin and continues to do so. |
