Optimisim is all we have for the rest of the season. The faint title hopes we had several games ago have been swallowed up by desperate football lacking purpose and confidence. The manager situation is having an increasing affect on the pitch as rafa and the players try too hard to put it right. H&G have what they deserve ,an expensive toy that is fast going out of fashion. We can only console ourselves with the hope of a cup this season as even 4th place is questionable. The coming months will be decisive on and off the pitch for the Reds. The boro game again demonstrated that we only started to play in the last 3rd of the match and we were chasing the game. Without Torres we looked average up front. How the mighty have fallen. |

You mean the faint title hopes YOU had several games ago. :blush2: I don't blame Rafa. The blame is squarely on the players' shoulders. However it is now clear Rafa must make only the most minimal changes necessary for the remaining games of the season. There is no point 'rotating' players into the side, like Voronin, who clearly cannot be arsed. We need our strongest possible team out there from now until the end of the season, even if it means playing Babel up front with Torres and shoving Gerrard out on the right so we can play two of Masch, Xabi or Lucas in the middle. Fook knows who we'll stick out on the left though. I think he's preparing to make a decision like this - when was the last time Rafa made a sub at half time? |

He's the most vulnerable to a move and the yanks' clear hesitation at sorting his transfer has got to have an impact. These guys may be billionaires but they have their fingers in too many pies and their value is tied up in assets and loans, not free cash. We need an owner who can give Rafa £100m and say "Buy who you want" |
