I know its on paper talk but if jose did go to liverpool would he be supported by the majority ? IMO there isnt many managers i would want out there at the moment instead of Rafa , Jose is one cause he knows how to win in the prem , Hiddink is another and then maybe lippi but thats about it really . All the previous history and bad blood would go right out off the window if he was a success at Liverpool ( if he came of course) titles and trophies are what matters and dont care if we bore are way to a win as long as we win .

I support the club and the team - I've cheered on some shite in the past, the likes of Tanner, Kozma and Piechnik.
This would be another one of those moments...

I'd have no choice really, by default.. I'd feel grubby and want to bathe in sulphuric acid to rid myself of the dirt, but if he ended up bringing us the title, I'm cheering my team and therefore the manager as well aren't I?
I hope it never comes to that...

I hope it never comes to it as well , but how long does rafa get ? dont want to see him go , want to see him backed to get at least another two maybe three world class stars , a striker and a wide man plus a decent left back . the news i am liking is this thing about the dubai guys again , they would throw money at us hopefully to get the best but once again prob just paper talk . give rafa the money to compete and then judge him but tbh not sure if he will get the chance .

It makes me laugh
For years you Liverpool fans bleated on about buying the title and your hate of "Maureen", and now it comes to it you (A) want to be bought out by some rich arabs & spend, spend, spend, and (B) want the man you all claimed to hate up to last year to run the show if Rafa gets the chop

It's the environment your deal old sugar daddy created unfortunately. It's what you have to do to compete these days. Look at Citeh for example.

yes we spent money but not to the extremes you guys did - 22 mil for a midfielder to sit on the bench , 30 mil for a 29 year old striker . 20 mil odd on essien etc etc etc . your sugar daddy put prices thru the roof , most teams maybe blew their budget on one player or a combination of players where as you guys came along and spend 100 odd million one year then another the next .

Because football was so much more exciting in 2003 when United had won the league for the what, 8th time out of 10 years?
Roman Abramovich has made the Premiership better, whether you like it or not.

There's a bloke called Arsene Wenger apparently, who's net spend in the last 5 or 6 years is about £1.5m. That's an actual world class manager, not your, "oh look I've ballsed up the league again, time to win a cup"

Is that the same £22 million midfielder who has started most games this season?
You seem to be overlooking one simple fact that puts all this in perspective. We don't set the prices we have had to pay. As I mentioned earlier it's the greedy bastards who own/cahir football clubs that went KERCHING whenever Chelsea came calling.
Our squad had a number of old players in it, De Goey, Desailly, Le Saux to name a few and some others that weren't good enough to mount a challenge on world football. Our squad needed an overhaul so money had to be spent.
If anything we revitalised football. Ask Blackburn who got £17 million (price put in his contract by the way) for Damien Duff. West Ham got £12 million for Cole & Johnson and they'd just been relegated. Hell we even gave Man U £15 million for Veron
A report has come out at the time that West ham could have gone under if they hadn't have got that money in.
Destroying football eh?

and in the two seasons he was with us formed the highest scoring parnership in th prem at the time with fowler . prob scored morein a couple of matches than sheva has all season . 28 goals in 60 games .as opposed to 8 in 41 ?
who has mentioned destroying football ?
how has roman made the prem better ? by buying all the players to stop other teams getting them ?

Oh I'm sorry I thought we were talking about transfer fees. not what they have done since signing. That was the point of the discussion.
How did Roman make the prem better? By changing the league from the usual Arsenal-Man Utd monolpoly into a three horse race whilst also revitalising a heavily stagnated transfer market & then that money filters through to other clubs.
Where did West Ham, Southampton, Blackburn & Charlton spend the money we gave them for Cole, Johnson, Bridge, Duff & Parker? Most of it went to other English/British clubs
Many clubs benefited from the cash injection and further down the chain I am sure it did some clubs a huge favour.
