Who would you most like to see signed for next season? It's been said that we're changing formation to 4-4-2 so personally I'd like to see a top striker come in, especially with Dorgba's imminent departure. I've alwasy been a fan of David Villa and he would fit the "proven star" catergory, but I also like the look of Sergio Aguero who looks like being a big star of the future. I'd also like to say I think Kaka would be an amazing signing for the club. To maintain a challenge on the EPL & CL I thnk he is the player we need. It would mean a goodbye to either Ballack or Lamps the Legend but I think it's neccessary for futre success. What say you? |

I wouldn't really like to see Kaka coming in. Great player and all that, but it might take him a while to adapt to the Premiership as it sometimes does with players coming in from Serie A. Not only that, I don't think he has the same hunger as Lampard, Ballack, Essien et al. Skillful as he is I wouldn't want a player coming in just for the flair if he isn't going to work as hard as everyone else. Certainly we don't need him to maintain our challenge. Rumours were going round about Lampard leaving, I really hope he stays, he was absolutely immense last night. Essien and Ballack have had great seasons IMO and bringing in another central midfielder could mean they get less time on the pitch and get frustrated. We ought to give Essien more games in his best position as he is a very complete player and still improving. Like you say we'll need a replacement for Drogba, and that will be tough to come by. Aguerro could do a job, young player who has impressed me when I've seen him. Obviously a different type player to Drogs so the system might have to change. Personally top of my list would be a top quality right back. We've played Ferreira, Belleti and Essien there so far. I think Essien is our best right back out of the three, which doesn't say much for the other two. They offer certain qualities yes, but neither are right backs of he highest quality. Maybe have a look at Alves, can't think of many other right backs who would fit the bill, perhaps someone else could come up with a suggestion. |

I agree with most of what you are saying We do definitely need a right back. Alves is certainly good enough and another I think we should consider is Phillip Lahm. He's right footed and the last time I saw him he played left back! Somebody mentioned to me he is playing at RB more nowdays and I think would be a fantastic option. He's also confirmed he is leaving Bayern and wants a change so we could be what he is looking for? He has one year left on his contract so would also be a cheaper option as Alves. As for Kaka, I am a big fan of his, going back to when he first joined Milan. I think he is that good he'd fit in with the EPL with no worries. Essien & Ballack are great players but I just think Kaka in a midfield diamond with Lamps, Essien & Mikel, along with two attacking full backs, that would make us world beaters for a good few years to come. Like I said Ballack has done nothing wrong in my eyes, his only down fall would be that he is 32, or will be soon. |

If he could get over his injury problems, i think Dean Ashton would be a good purchase. Strong, quick, knows how to score a goal. Plus he's still reasonably young but not the kind of player who would cost us over £10m. So if Drogba, Shevchenko, Pizzarro all go, then we'll certainly be in need of strikers. |
