In our article "Abramovich snaps after Russia blow it against Israel" 21 November 2007, we reported that Roman Abramovich had stormed into the Russian players' dressing room after their defeat to Israel in the Euro 2008 qualifying match to complain about the performance to the players and manager. We also reported that Mr Abramovich had a skirmish with a photographer the following night which was being investigated by the police. We now accept that Mr Abramovich did not criticise the Russian players or manager, that he was not involved in the skirmish and the police are no longer investigating the matter. We apologise to him for any upset caused. :gotya: |
