Albion have broken season ticket records as the fans clamour for a Hawthorns seat for next season’s Premier League campaign.

The club have now sold more than 21,000 season tickets for their eagerly-awaited return to the most talked about league in world football.

That eclipses the previous highest number of season tickets sold, 20,500, during the ‘Great Escape’ campaign of 2004-05.

The Baggies now have less then 1,000 season tickets left for next season and will be optimistic those will be snapped up as well.

A spokesman said: “We are in unchartered territory because we have never sold this many tickets before. But we are optimistic - the interest is very high still.”

Fans on the waiting list who have had season tickets reserved must pay by noon on Saturday.
