I have had a few ideas for Fortresscraft's future idea , including one specific topic, which is a material which can conduct electricity, and be lad on the floor like a wire, taking up 1x1x0 blocks in space(2d surface only), and activating devices like lights, doors and traps. It could, for example, be used to place a door to a room which opens automatically when you approach through the use of pressure plates on the ground (also flat surfaces only), or when you want, it can be locked with a switch on the interior. Complex circuitry could potentially be created in a sub-editor using much smaller blocks, and be placed on a floor or wall as a flat surface containing a generic image of a circuit board, deliberately blurred to save RAM by not computing each circuit's image individually, but still giving the impression that it has to the creator. Also, several things mentioned here, like doors and switches, should be craftable items made of wood or stone. I also believe that in future chapters, the player should not be able to edit as freely as in Creation, but instead can reap the benefits of the editing they have already done, for example by digging up Gold and Diamond blocks, placed in Chapter 1, while in a future chapter in which more advanced mining tools can be crafted, and blocks can be used for more than decoration. |
