"Guess this had to happen sooner or later!" Chase slid his leg across the seat of his bike, switching off the ignition as he did so, sighing under his breath. His dad was being such a douche-bag about the whole job thing, his mom was too wrapped up in her social book clubs to even care, which left Chase to wonder why he even had to look for work in the first place. It wasn't as if he didn't have money, he did, lots of it but his dad seemed to think that finding work would make Chase a better man. "Hard labor equals a chain gang," Chase mumbled to himself as he shoved his keys into his jeans pocket and took a good look around. It was a nice place, lots of fresh green grass, a few horses grazing here and there, some well kept barns. He had picked Coyote Creek mainly because he'd owned a few arabian horses in his lifetime and he was familiar with their quirks. Not to mention that it was the only farm being run by a woman, which made the trip worthwhile. "Well, if I don't get hired, dad can't say I never tried." Sliding his hands into his pockets, Chase trooped up towards what he assumed was the main office. Once he reached the wide doors, he pulled his left hand from his pocket and rapped the wood solidly with his knuckles a few times before shifting back to see who answered the door.

The past few months had been rather quiet. But it didn't bother Inez because she had only a few horses and it was just her and her horses and so it didn't matter how long it took her to exercise them. She had formed really close bonds with Padron and Magnum along with the rest of the horses. But that morning, the sound of a revving engine was heard coming up the driveway. Inez had just dropped the fresh bedding into Padron's stall and so she finished spreading it to her liking before leading Padron back inside and then turned him around and led him almost to the stall door before unclipping his leadrope and then grabbed the door and after shooing him back inside, slid the door shut and latched it firmly. She patted his neck before she walked outside to see who had just arrived. Inez stepped out of the barn and noticed someone standing at the door of the main office which was attached to the barn. She wiped her hands off on her form-fitted jeans before calling out to Chase as she made her way towards him.

"Hello there. Can I help you with something?"

Hearing someone approaching, Chase turned on his heel, spying the lone woman headed in his direction. He smoothed his palms upon his jeans and went to meet Inez halfway, half leaping down the steps in haste. When he reached her, he offered her a grin and held out a hand, hoping that he wasn't wasting his time here. "Chase Evans miss." His blue eyes sparkled with his playful nature, he wasn't the kind of guy who took himself too seriously. Chase looked around, admiring what Inez had done for the farm; he assumed she lacked workers because if the place was crawling with them, one of them would have been all up in his grill by this time. Looking back at her, he stated his reason for being there. "I was just wondering whether you were hiring or not?"

Inez sized Chase up as he half leaped down from the porch. He seemed almost too eager but if he was here about a job, maybe she could exhaust him by having him work with the stallions. Magnum and Psyche were especially hard to handle. Well, when they caught the scent mares, whether they were in heat or not. The gap between them closed and when Chase extended his hand, she extended her own and shook it firmly but not too vigorously. <b>"Nice to meet you Chase. I'm Inez."</b> He glanced around the land she owned and she herself glanced over it, proud of how nicely it had been kept up, all by her lonesome. Chase's thoughts were indeed correct. Inez had no workers and she maintained the land and everything it contained, by herself. Her gaze shifted back to him as he spoke again, asking her if she was hiring or not. <b>"Indeed I am, Chase. For several years, I've had no one willing to work for me. A woman who owns a farm is frowned upon out here. But enough of that. What are you looking for as far as a job?"

Inez? Chase cocked a brow at the name, finding it most unusual but exotic sounding nonetheless. But he wasn't bothered by it much. Her handshake was firm, and he could tell a lot about her just by the simple gesture. The rough spots on her hand said that she was a hard worker, the handshake itself said that she was honest and forthcoming on any deals she made and Chase found himself admiring her work ethic. And if she maintained this facility on her own, he was pretty sure she wouldn't mind a second pair of hands. Her next words caught him off guard, leaving him with a small frown on his face. Women who owned farms were looked down upon? Was she serious? If there was one thing Chase couldn't stand, it was inequality. "Well that's just stupid," he grumbled, his blue eyes deepening in color due to his shifting emotions. "Women can own whatever they want I think." He sighed, suddenly realizing that this one horse town was still living in the middle ages. But he didn't dwell on the oppressive ideas much, his mind already changing subjects. His shoulders lifted in a shrug, work was work no matter what kind of a job it was. Though he came from wealthy stock, Chase wasn't above getting his proverbial hands dirty if need be. "Depends on what you need help with. I've worked with arabians before, owned a couple of them. You decide what needs to get done and I'll do it."

Once the introductions were out of the way as well as the handshake...Chase spoke up after hearing that women were frowned upon out in this area. <i>'Well that's just stupid. Women can own whatever they want I think.'</i> Inez nodded. <b>"You are correct in that women can own whatever they want but I moved my Arabians into a part of this state that was mostly Thoroughbred farms. Just the fact that I have Arabians is enough for people here to dislike me. It doesn't seem to matter that Arabians can be just as useful as Thoroughbreds. But they are slowly starting to accept me now that they see I'm not going to just pack up and leave due to a few people who hate me. There is one owner here, Jason Cahill, that's been beyond kind to me. Helping me when I can't afford feed and such."</b> Inez fell silent as he spoke again asking her what she needed done and letting her know that he had worked with and owned Arabians in the past. She smiled and motioned for him to follow her to the barn. <b>"I've been keeping up the stalls fairly well but my studs are pretty much getting out of control because they aren't getting much exercise.</b> They entered the barn then and she led him to where the two Psyche stallions were housed. "These two here are just not getting enough exercise. I try and work them 3 times a week but they need to be worked out daily. I just dont have enough time to do all of my horses every day."</b>

So she was asking him to work her stallions? Easy enough. Chase followed Inez into the barn, towards the two stallions. There was a third stallion a bit farther into the barn, his head over the door, his deep set eyes showing minor interest in the two. Shadow it seemed, had settled well. Chase studied the three of them, making mental notes about their personalities, and the slight differences in body build. "Why not run them in the pasture? Or are they too unruly for that?" Chase recognized the Psyche tots, but he wasn't so familiar with the grey further down the aisle. He stood with his arms across his chest, studying the three of them in turn, feeling pretty confident that he could at least try and help the girl out. "If you want me to work them out, I can do that. One thing though, would it be ok if I brought my dog with me to work? He hates being left at home."
