Just came across a secondhand one pretty cheap and wondered if anyone had any experience with them?

This one's the Power Getter, and just bolts straight on.

Power getter sound very sharp but deep enoguh.. If you like it sharp then power getter if not go for legalis R and legalis super R which has a very deep yet unique sound. I consider Fujitsub is the best exhaust around. try this and you would know a bit better on the sound..

Sounds great - anyone know what the relative retail prices are around here for those?

I can see that in the UK they seem to retail for 500GBP or so!? That seems like way too much...!

hey, yes fujistubo exhaust are great quality. in AUS, they car range from tad over 1k-1.6k for an catback system. legalis, legalis R are a good exhaust systems, quiet compared to other fujitsubo range, but deep in note. rm01a and super ti, are the louder counterparts by fujistubo, but i stil love the sound of them. and for a power getter, i have a friend who has em on his civic vtir and sounds deep, not hollow. hope im making sense.

Well, I just picked up a Power getter secondhand for NZ$155 so its looking like a fucking bargain. It's only cat-back, but for that much it's worth taking the risk I reckon.

Cheers for the feedback guys - will let you know how I get on!

Dumbass question - but what kind of labour time should I expect to pay to get an exhaust fitted? Just a rear section (Fujitsubo FGK Power Getter, incidentally) - bolt on.

Would it be best to just get Toyota to do it at the same time as the service (due soon) or are they funny about fitting aftermarket parts?

First impressions are that it has definitely made an HP difference - I feel like the torque curve is gradually sliding down the RPM scale and improving the low end. Still sucks ass up to 2400rpm, but feels a bit better through to 4500 now, and smoother.

Noise isn't too bad, the idle rumble is a bit throatier, and cruising at 100kmh a bit louder, but it's not unbearably noisy. It's kinda nice really - makes the car feel a bit sportier bizarrely! I definitely think it's one of the quieter aftermarkets out there. Having said that, I'm not sure what it'd be like with a straight pipe in the centre, or different extractors.

The tail pipe is 110mm; I'll post a pic tomorrow hopefully.

Yeah, from memory I think you're right - every now and then I do get this weird bit of resonance - often when I lift the throttle at low speeds off about 3000rpm. As you suggest, it's definitely got a distinctive and more noticeable low Hz rumble at 100kmh than did the stock exhaust, that's for sure.

I presume the resonance is more of a feature of the car, than it is of the exhaust though, as I've heard its common with aftermarket exhausts on the tezzas.

Still, it's not that bad.
