Hi everyone: I got a Remus Rear Silencer fitted yesterday. It's a bolt on type. Massive 115mm diameter tailpipe (Turbo Design), stock pipe = 80mm dia. The tail pipe close up the gap between the rear bumper and stock pipe up well, but no problem with the pipe touching the plastic at all. It's very quiet when the engine is cold. not much difference to my stock muffler. When the engine warmed up, it become "slightly" louder. Still very quiet and quieter than I expected. It gives a deeper note ~ 2700~3000rpm. Can't feel power gain in low rev, and no decrease either. I havent rev the engine yet since it's fitted. will give it a few high rev this arvo. SSML |

pic of stock muffler , taken from rear right angle. I think the stock 80mm dia tailpipe is pretty big for a stock item. note the size(length and width) of the stock back box. |

pic of Remus. taken from similar angle. it has a smaller backbox, but compare to Trust and Fujitsubo, I think Remus is still massive. It gives same ground clearance as the stock backbox. But departing angle might be a little smaller due to larger diameter tialpipe and it's slightly protruded out compare to stock. It DOES give deeper note at idle , but not noticeable from inside the cabin (sound proof too good?) also at ~2500~3000rpm it gives deeper sound when give gas. I went to a musical concert just before I picked up the car from workshop , so my ears were a bit deaf ,couldnt tell the difference of the deep/base note. |
