It's still on if we can get suitable numbers and support from NSW and QLD members....!!!
However i cannot confirm this weekend without firm committments from everyone who has indicated that would like to come, or might come, or are thinking about it!! If we are going to get a nice group discount on accomodation, then i would like to ask for money up front, if that's ok.
Stephen/SSML, i know you have organised for the 19th and 20th of Nov, so i will leave the decision in your hands on wether or not we can move the event AGAIN to suit Ben (it would be nice to have our first QLD member along for the ride!). I will also need you to confirm how many QLD people will be attending.

Easter Long Weekend is April 14th to 17th. (Friday -> Monday).

If no one is going to the Toyota Nationals, then perhaps it's the perfect time for this event?

Hey Kelvin, as you can see, your the first person to respond to my question.

Until we get some decent numbers interested in this event, we will not organise anything. I have some places lined up for accomodation, so it just needs some people to say they are definitely in. Depending upon numbers, we can then work out the best place to stay.

Really, we need to make it a 2 night/3 day event, so either we nominate the next long weekend, or we all agree to take a Friday or (better!) a Monday off.

Hey Matt

I think there is only one way to do this type of event. Set a date 3 months in advance.
Get cash up front and numbers organised [collect over two months- 4 week prior cut off].
Try to aim for a w/end where a public holiday is involved on a Friday or a Monday. ie Friday public holiday like this w/end coming drive up Friday. Stay Fri, Sat night. Sunday people can start the migration back early. Be home in time for dinner to be ready and on the table .
Public hol is a ++ because its not a rush to get back, more relaxing , do feel like you have had time off rather than going going going all w/end.

Next Public Holiday's I can see in diary

June 12th - Queens Birthday (Monday)
or
August 7th - Bank Holiday (Monday)
or
October 2nd - Labour Day (Monday)

Everybody ear mark these dayz, and post comments for cruisin B)

come to coffs guys its a nice spot and their have been a few clubs come here in the past couple weeks. Heap of Mazdas (6 & 3) came thru on the weekend and the GTrydaz club had a BIG meet a week or so before that. It would be good to see a heap of IS cruising around. Weathers been great :P

OK, hoping to make this next month once i can finalise some accomodation.

I stopped in to Coffs Harbour on my way back from Splendour in the Grass a few weeks back, and i endd up taking the tourist drive inland up into Ferndahl. Some great driving! I stumbled upon Ferndahl Mountain Inn which looks to be an ideal place to stay, but there was no one there and they haven't returned any of my calls.

Any suggestions of places to stay in Coffs?

Not next month :(

October is bad for me.. Am booked up every weekend with the only exception being the 28/29th.. So unless it's that weekend I can't make it..

Should throw some suggested weekends out there and find which is the most popular i reckon :)

Well being that I live there I have never had to stay in a motel. G/F always seems to be happy for me to be on the lounge rofl

Found this but

I know Pacific Bay is really nice and the Quality Inn City Centre looks OK.
Guess it comes down to how much you want to pay

OK, with all the QLD'er activity going on, I want to try and kick this off again, and I'm thinking we should try and lock a date in over early January. What do people think???

I've been up to Coffs a few months ago for a few days, and scouted around a few places. I was staying right near the Novotel Pacific Bay - it would probably be the best place for us to stay. We will need to secure numbers and bookings, and the Novotel have told me we can have some conference facilities to use if we wish. Or we can just push all the tables together at breakfast time.

Found some good places to eat, and some nice roads in the Coffs hinterland as well.
