Hey guys, I cleaned all the crud from my sunroof when I first got the car, its still nice and clean although abit creaky/loud when I open/close the sunroof now that all the grease/lubricant has been cleaned off with the crud I removed. Does anyone know what to replace it with or am I best of asking Lexus what they would do? Cheers Matt |

HAHA, Its like the bracelet that Homer wears in one episode with WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) written on it. In this case is is What Would Lexus Do. All Hail Lexus :ph43r: Sorry I have to much time on my hands. However, on a serious note. What was the grease like that you wiped off with all the crud? I would think that any kind of lubricating grease would do the trick just some bearing grease or something like that. I think you can buy this at K Mart in a white tub made by Castrol. Dont go over board though just a little bit, dont want massive chunks of grease hanging off it. Then just run the sunroof open and closed a couple of times to get it moving smoothly and quitely again. |

 Posting my interest - my sunroof is ok, but would like to clean it out also. I wonder also about the seal, wether it is an actual part number (they deteriorate over time) |

I've just got my sunroof lubricated recently due to rattle noise. The dealership had told me that they used the spraying lubricant (sounds like silicon), definitely not the Castrol grease that looks like butter type as I've used it often for my other car. |

Homer thinks that the WWJD stands for "What Would Japeto Do" and when Lisa fills him in on the fact that it is actually "What Would Jesus Do" Homer says "Ohhhh, I thought it was Japeto" and throws the bracelet away I think. |

Gonna buy this today...and see if the sqeeking goes away. http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productId=ezi330# Nulon Ezi-Glide clear silicone spray is the perfect lubricant to use in hundreds of different applications. Nulon Ezi-Glide is clear, water repellent, durable, super slippery and easy to use. Ezi-Glide can be safely used on all surfaces including metal, plastic, rubber, vinyl, fibreglass, fabrics, wood and paint. Ezi-Glide is non-staining, although we recommend testing as a precautionary measure. Nulon Ezi-Glide does not react with most substances, so it can be used to form a barrier to protect surfaces from other damaging substances such as oil, paint and ink. Ezi-Glide is extremely effective in protecting against graffiti. Automotive Uses: Nulon Ezi-Glide is excellent for lubricating door, bonnet and boot hinges and catches, as well as electric sunroof mechanisms and seat runners. A simple spray allows car windows to slide up and down easily – without staining black window rubbers. It eliminates squeaks in car dashboards and door seals. It also protects and beautifies door seal rubbers. Transport and Industrial Uses: Ezi-Glide is perfect for assembling and lubricating O-rings. Use on plastic valves, filling lines and conveyors, pool filter controls, pins and bushes, plastic gears, plastic moulds, bearings and all types of industrial machinery. Use wherever a clear, water-repellent, non-staining lubricant is needed. Ezi-Glide has a temperature range from -73°C to 316°C. It can be safely used in the maintenance of all types of office equipment such as photocopiers, printers etc. as well as chair mechanisms and castors. Household Uses: Ezi-Glide is ideal for use on zippers, door locks, hinges, drawer runners, sewing machines and home appliances. Because it is clear and will not stain, it is a great lubricant for curtain tracks, vertical blind and venetian blind mechanisms. Use to lubricate sliding doors, garage doors, window channels, fishing reels and garden tools. Ezi-Glide repels water, oils, adhesives, inks and paints. Benefits: Easy to use Water repellent Non-staining (though we recommend testing) Lubricates Protects against staining and graffiti Attracts less dust than conventional lubricants Wide temperature range |

Ended up purchasing this version from CRC. CRC-5074 Product Name Auto Silicone Lubricant 300g Aerosol Description CRC Auto Silicone Lubricant is a non-corrosive formula that lubricates, protects and eliminates sqeaking and binding caused by friction. This silicone is clear, odourless and highly resistant to water Auto1 advised its the same as the Nulon version. Tried it and now the squeeks are gone. We will know more of its success after a month to see if the squeek comes back. |

Update!!!! Be sure to cover your seats...or at least wipe it and put some leather softeners or something to em after spraying the sunroof as I just realise today that I got spots all over my front seats. Bits of shiny stuff....cleanable but did not show up till the silicon dried. |

Hello!! Just wondering what type of products y'all use to help keep the rubber seals on your vehicles from drying/breaking/cracking - in particular the soft rubber on the sunroof. My roof has just decided it wants to start catching the rubber part against the metal roof cut-out part, making a horrible thudding sound when shifting down to slide open. I greased the rubber for now (but yucky over-grease remains) and it opens nicely for the time being. Was wondering if there was a better and not so awful looking way. |

ohh...forgot all about this stuff... After applying the silicon spray the moon/sunroof have not made anymore squeeks but there are still a lot of rubber bits around the roof side (painted) of the moon/sunroof. Maybe need to clean it a few times till it stops leaving rubber bits. That reminds me...gonna do it today. |

I'm yet to have rubbery bits left on the metal rim of the roof (hope it doesn't happen)! The roof just gets caught when trying to open. I ended up getting CRC-808 last nyte which I've to try. Will do so when i get home from work this evening! |

CRC-808 worked a treat. The roof opens without catching on the metal frame now!!
