To get the bug or not to get the bug.

What temps do your cars run at? I was starting to get uncomfortable around 98 degrees and engine started rev limiting lower... need some extra cooling - oil cooler will definitely happen.

And I think I need swaybars :P

Cmon Mos ... you can do it!!!. We'll take it easy...I'm a newbie on Trackdays and just want a few side ways and track experience. Get your spot quick before they run out.

my first wakefield day was this time last year, water temps touched 110 oil touched 136deg! and that was only after a couple of laps!

3 hard laps 2 cool down... but that is stupid conservative.

and people laugh at me when i tell them you need gauges to run at the circuit!
ftw

Uhm.. err.. I had 1.5 laps then the lower rev limit started kicking in ;) The whole day was extremely conservative for me...
My only temperature gauge was a thermocouple on the outside of the heater core pipe inside the cabin.

Mos, your conservative by nature!

Bochup, Kurt, anyone else on the sideline - don't hesitate, just get your names down ASAP! Even if you miss out on a spot, if you are at all interested in driving on the circuit, you should come down and check it out. Meet some Altezza People, get some cool photo's, see the action, and you can even have a passenger run (passengers are free!).

Remember - don't hesitate!

Yes, yes I am :)
However, tell me you would keep thrashing a car when it's rev limiting at 80 instead of 110? :)
So when are you installing those gauges Matt? ;)

Really? I thought it was a symbolic $15 or something before?

Freaky, Brian and I were only talking about the gauges last night. Only problem is, I currently have a dash tray there, and I use it!

Correct, normally a symbolic $15.00, but because there is no timing passngers are free (although will still require the Wakefield Day Licence)

Got my car all sorted for the next track day last night :D

No Reggie, noooooooooo!!!

IMHO - You don't really need gauges with a standard motor, you'll be fine!

But, if you can't make it, make sure you let Narada know that you are passing your spot to Bochup, so he can make it!

That was a good day! Even for me! I learnt an important lesson, if you are going to a track day, prepare for it as if you are going to race. "She'll be right" just won't do it here... I'll let the video tell the story.

I did go back out for 2 more sessions on a spare wheel though, but a differnet size and tyre made it a very intersting afternoon... :D

Flippin' fantastic day again, I tried out two more wheel/tire combinations, and learnt alot about my current road tires. Probably put down some quicker times as well, maybe 1:20? Had some great tagging with a Skyline, Boxster and Pug 205 GTi. Can't wait for the next one already!

not sure where the other images of your powerslide went ;) - from my side it looks like you held it all the way down the main straight!

:)

(only those who were there will know how much of a tank-slapper it may or may not have been!)
