Guys, I've been looking at IS's on sale and this is what I'm liking but the price is too high due to the redbook value so the bank won't give it to me at that price on it. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...Time%7C1&__No=0 I also found this one which is 'sports luxury' but I thought they come with leather? I see clth trim. Is it a fake? http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...Time%7C1&__No=0 |

Exo I'd take my time searching because othervise you will end up paying too much for an is200. Also if you do end up planning to strech your budget definately look for an altezza with a 3SGE Beams motor rather than the wussy 1GFE Simply put 3SGE for performance IS200 for luxury cruiser Ps the yellow's and calilante's are great if you can get your hands on them. |

Thanks guys, I think I will cause the asking price is wayyy to high for against redbook and what the bank will lend me. I do have plans for the BEAMS 3S conversion (still susing out insurance and mainroads for any complications) but so far I'm trying to find something with the color/trim options I want. I've already PM'd IS300 someone (with the 2jz init) on this forum so fingers crossed he's still got his for sale as I might be able to call in a few favors to get it rego'd properly in QLD. I've got 2 yellow ones where I live getting around and haven't really learnt what they are. No doubt this thread will be full of n00b questions as my search continues but I've been trawling the forums finding advice on what works giving me a more narrow search.. 3S-GE is certainly one of them! |

Noob questions are welcome, that's what forums like these are for. They are actually as valuable for people looking to buy as they are for those who already own one. I see your looking for a manual - good man! If there is a weekspot in the IS200, this is where it is, though - check the condition of the gearbox and clutch by going for a drive. Expect 1st to 2nd to be a little clunky, but drive a few cars to get a feel for what they are like. The ratio's are short, so gear changing can be frequent, and hence linkages and clutches are getting worn around 80'000 -100'000 kms travelled. But that's where a clutch and flywheel upgrade come into effect. If your committed to an engine conversion, however, then you needn't worry too much about the clutch and gearbox condition, since you will need to change both. Stritcly speaking, the 3SGE BEAMS gearbox is the same, however the clutch isn't and the gearbox bellhousing isn't. so you will still need to take all this out for a conversion. |

eXo, I think the only IS200's that have full leather trim are the Caliente's and Platinum's which are both Limited Edition runs and are abit more $$$ The Limited Edition yellow's are full cloth with no power seats and a few other less things I think maybe? I rekon the Caliente's are the pick of the bunch though! hot looking car, with some minor machanical differences in the diff or ratio's I read sumwhere. They're rare in manual though I think. Dont have any pic's of the Caliente's, not many/any for sale that I can see to show u pic's of but yeah goodluck finding your perfect Lexus! |

At least a 12 month wait as the only way you can bring one in is on Private Import. But worth the wait! Matt, gotta correct you about the Yellow Edition IS's - we have two in the club here in Sydney, one is manual and all leather, and one is auto and leather/alcantara. |

Well, I've spotted this lil beauty.. CarSales But the interior color doesn't do it for me. I am sus about the low K's on it though as it looks nice but anyone got a unofficial history on this one? Also, I'm interested about this personal import. do I have to know someone there or is there a service that can provide it? |

it certainly does look cool. I've got a background check being done on it now. I also found this one which looks alright but the whole 'not negociable' bit scares me... sounds like they don't want to part with it. here... |

Christ no! You gotta be kidding me! Your a VIP member, have a look in the garage for answers. eXo, that charcoal one is definitely worth a look, it is a good price if the kays are genuine. That blue is good if your looking for a weekend/ricersalon car, otherwise your just gonna worry about the paint and scratches on the kit everytime you enter a driveway. Horses for Courses. |

genuine WALD kit ...? thats gotta be rare as ! Im kinda skeptical on this one ... The cosmetics alone would be at least $12K-$15Ks ... But overall, if its genuine - then yes, highly consider it ! 2001 Sports Lux now go for around $26Ks anyway - so the buyer is asking a fair price. |

just searched the forums and couldn't find anything about hotel and blue in the same thread.. but yes, I am trying to get some feedback about this car so it doesn't turn out to be a lemon. The missus is already liking that car and edging me to buy it <_< |
