Hey Guys..

Im over in New York for a few months working my butt off, but I just had to let you know the first car I saw when I exited LAX airport after a 12 hour flight from Auckland was an Altezza!!!

The fact that the car was stock doesnt matter.. but the whole left hand drive thing is just screwed up. Didnt get a chance to have a look in it, but its the only one I have seen in the last week.

Happy New Year to all as well! Didnt quite make it to Times Square, but have seen a few of the sights. Off on a cruise around Manhatten tonight to see the Statue of Liberty and all that.

Americans are an interesting bunch. I have been getting quite a bit of stick for my accent, and especially how I pronounce tomatoes. Not impressed with how they are mistaking me for an Australian..

Be good...

LOL!!

enjoy it and keep us posted Lisa.

My neice recently married a Noo Yorker. They flew back from London to Auckland for the wedding and we met his family.

They've settled in Sydney, of all places, sunnier than London, bigger than Auckland and nicer than New York!

lol, are you sure it was an altezza and not an is300 ;)

There aren't any road-registered altezzas in north america as far as I know.

When I was in the US for half a year, all they seem to have are IS300s. New York is cool.....everything seems to be "up-sized" in the US

Think the IS300 is more common there, and Altezzas are as rare as they are in Australia too, have a mate in LA with an IS300 and hes apart of IS300.net forums and he says REAL Altezzas are very limited.

Not impressed with how they are mistaking me for an Australian..

If they ever ask you that, ask them if their accent is canadian  . You gradually start hearing the 'where is your accent from' as opposed to the 'are you from australia' comments!

Peru runs on Jap imports, just like NZ. But they are all converted to LHD on arrival, a massive waste of resources & time.

Maybe there are more LHDs around.

cant say I looked that deep into the car... I had just been on a plane for way too many hours and lacked a large amount of sleep. Altezza or IS... You get my gist!

Food is disgusting over here... not impressed. Working long days 8am till 8 or 9pm doing crap work but hey im in New York right?

Went to Washington on the weekend. Wasn't as fab as i thought it was going to be. A large amount of .... err.... "interesting" characters.

Putting a blog and photos on www.myspace.com/lhammington if anyone is interested.

Hiring a stretch hummer in a couple of weeks for the whole secondment crew. Should be a good ride!

Best get on to reconciling some crap...

Peace out from NYC!
