Hey folks.. Im thinking thats its getting awfully close to time to upgrade my ride. I am test driving an IS250 this coming Sat, but also have a shortlist of a few other rides that Im going to check out.

IS250
A4 2.0 TFSI quattro
325i
3-5yr old M3
Q7 (just curious)

I was just curious as to what features you guys want in you cars.. What can & can't you live without?

For me the new car must have the following:

* Memory Seats!!! (My girlfriend & I are about 1foot difference in height)
* cruise control (active would be nice)

I could live without the following features:
* Sat Nav (I know where Im going most of the time)

So lets have it, I want to know what you shelled out extra for and no longer use or what you where to cheap to pay for and know wish you'd shelled out for.

Cheers

My mum has that on her new GS, it is cool but the fact that the conversation comes through the whole car stereo, its ok if you want to share your conversation with all your passengers, but if not...they will hear everything you say... You would be better off getting a normal Bluetooth Headset that clips onto your ear for less then $100

maybe having a look and try the new technology like safety i.e. how many air bags they got and brake into corners or do some drifting.... ;)

about the M3, i was told that not to get pre 2004 model, they have some fault on the engine or the engine management...

IS250 and 325I are very closely matched car, would be nice to test both of them and get a feel on their handling, power and comfort level...

Must have rear wheel drive and a clutch (although a DSG would do)

NO to torque converters

A nice set of buckets (Some nice leather seats if no one makes any race brackets for the car)

Manual (if the car comes in manual models)

Sunroof (i don't drive fast enough to really care about rigidity haha)

A four-door, unless it is a 2 seater car

Actually, have already been thinking about my next car after the altezza.. An AMG C36 would be nice in busy Hong Kong :D !

If you're looking at those cars... the things that i would expect for the money are:

- Power seats/windows/mirrors/sunroof with tilt function
- climate control a/c. Dual zone if available
- leather seats, nice quality finish interior. (minimal cheap plastic)
- decent power, good breaks, ABS, nice wheels (17' minimum)
- cup holders
- air bags all round
- centre arm rest
- xenon bulbs and LED tail lights

Basically, i look for an undiluted driving experience first. Traction control aids are nice, as long as they can be disabled when i want.
A/C is a must in Australia (ignore anything Charlie/Black200 has to say on this subject :D ). USB or ipod connectivity so you can carry large amounts of music in the car without taking up space.
If you must have GPS you don't need inbulit, aftermarket is better.
