Sorry if this has been asked before, just the search function did not show any hits, or it's not working. Anyway, I got this from another forum, and was wondering if this is a thing you guys have come across or done yourself. Cleaning your MAF |

Certainly a lot of the RS drivers (myself included) have cleaned the MAF sensor. I can't say whether the V6s have the sensor in the same place though or if its possible to clean it... |

Yeah ive done mine on the Gita, get yourself a can of CRC MAF Sensor cleaner. Remove the sensor from the plastic intake housing (firewall side of the filter) remove and spray clean, be carefull not to touch sensor with anything but the spray or a cotton bud if really dirty. there's a thread somewhere...ill see if i can find it. |

Here is the link for a post on cleaning the MAF sensor, it is however for the 3SGE engine. http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezzaclu...?showtopic=2050 |

...and that's because the 1GFE doesn't have a MAF sensor!

Thsnkd guys, I found it. Was a bit peeved that the airfilter was friggin dirty with bees and crap. The dealer didn't bother to get it cleaned. I'm going to replace it with K&N soon anyway. |

But the 2JZGE in the AS300 does though haha. I've heard of other people talk about changing their MAF sensors to one with higher flow or something like that, is this applicable to our cars? Or not even worth bothering with on our engines? (if they even make them for the 3SGE) |

Aha! Good point Nick! I can't see that we would need it upgraded unless we were pulling substantially more power, as it can read air-flow up to 9000rpm now. A 280hp turbo probably won't rev as high, so you would have to calculate the amount of air it swallowed on max boost at say 6000 and compare. One of those complicated problems that arises and no-one has the answer to. |
