Some drifting action from Russia for you, mates (32Mb wmv file) Definately it's not the pro drifting. But it's a fully stock Altezza RS200 6MT! I got this vid filmed in October 2006 since i've been practicing for almost half of the last year. And only now I've edited and mixed it. So, please enjoy it. Sorry the vid was made at night, so the quality is not that good. And you may think that the car slides from somewhere to nowhere and this drifting doesn't seem significant. But on the video at 1m19sec it's seen that the car drifts from the beginning till the end by the perimeter of this bus parking. I think my tezza reached its stock potential and now it's time for adding some boost and coilovers to go to a new level ![]() Cheers. |

guys, do you have any altezza-drifters over there? seems the world doesn't really understand the great potential of this car. Not too much people use this car for drifting. Surely, Silvias are cheaper and the mods are cheaper... but Altezza imo is much much more beautiful when going sideways. |

I drift mine on the street. My firends have 180sx's and r32's etc and all reckon the altezza sits so flat and feels like such a balanced car. The go on an on about how perfectly it drifts factory engine mods with coilovers. I run 225/45/R17's front and back and use Tein Super Street Coilovers. I'm going to the HKS Hyper-D's this weekend and will give them a go. |

Nice vid dude - good to see your getting the car sideways with a clutch kick rather than a hand brake!

thanx, mate. At the beginning I also thought that the hand brake is for dummies and mostly used clutch-kick. But when acheiving higher speeds I'm sorry to say that Altezza doesn't have enough torque to go sideways by clutch kick. For example, when I reached the turn at ~80-100 km/h I could only use the hand brake to make the car go sideways and only after that pushed pedal to the metal to keep the tyres off the grip. Clutch kick didn't work at such speed (possibly because we have the peak torque at mid-rpms, and I used the 2nd gear on the redline) here's the couple of my vids drifting at ~80-100 km/h (Moscow hashiriya! :D) video #1 - better speed, but lower angle video #2 - lower speed, but bad-ass angle Sorry, the quality of these vids is awful. We recorded it with a simple photo-camera. |

Marseille, have you tried the breaking technique? Going fast on a straight then break hard to shift the weight to the front and then floor the gas to lose traction behind wheels because it's lighter behind. That trick might work. I seriously dont know if it will work on a tezza or not but i know the silvias do. Who knows it might work out
