Well considering that winter is around the corner and I have my windows heavily tinted incl the rear ones, i'm starting to look at some reverse parking sensors. I can't see shit when its dark from the rear view mirror <_< at the moment so wondering if anyone has fitted these and how hard is it to do so?

Also if you have any prices that would be good too - I know its a matter of just calling up Toyota/Lexus but i'm lazy

I'm also able to get my hands on some parking sensors for a Lexus RX330 ... does anyone know if these would fit our cars?

Cheers

I went from toyota corona (don't care if it hits anything)
to subaru forester (very easy to gauge revesing)
to the lexus where you don't get anything out of the rear and i still find parking it a hassle, plus it has the turning circle of a small football field. I'd get some parking sensors too but they would have to be black and hidden under the bumper because they are ugly.

Have you considered one of those mini wireless camera systems. Dunno what the angle of view is like thou. Guessing its not that great.

easy way to solve the turning circle problem. Just turn the traction control off and plant the boot

There are new items I've seen at Jaycar or Repco cant quite remember, they are new light bulbs, that have the sensor IN THE LIGHT :P . So they just replace the stock bulbs used for the white reverse light, and beep loudly itself instead of having ugly marks on your bumper.

That sounds like a better idea ... let me know if you find them.

Here we go, found it in this weeks SuperCheapAuto flyer.

Should be about the same price over in Australia I guess.

That's just a beeper, not a parking sensor.

Jaycar do a flush mount sensor kit for about $70NZ, they even supply the drill bit to cut the holes in your bumper. Eek! :o

Oh sh#t, only realised that now...
Wait I'll keep on the look out for the sensor ones, I'm sure I can find it when I get back home. (was thinking $20 was a bit to cheap..)

It's simply a beeper circuit built into the bulb. When the bulb lights up, it beeps. It's more of a warning to people around your car, rather than for the driver. No receiver inside.
